OHSS 14 days post trigger

I am 14 days post trigger (ovitrelle) and 12 days post egg collection. I have one ovary and we collected 14 eggs - 12 mature, 11 fertilised, 6 day 5 blasts (now frozen). We didn't transfer due to the hyper-stimulation.
Has anyone else had OHSS which just isn't seeming to shift?
I've had a scan today and still have fluid in my abdomen and my ovary is still enlarged (12cm +). I have also started my period today so I'm wondering if this will also help? Is there anything you've done to maybe help it at all? I'm in lots of pain on my left side (where my ovary is) and still feel really nauseous. I'm taking pain relief and anti sickness, but it's just not seeming to get any better.

I don't have OHSS and they only got two eggs (from a max of 9 follicles over two ovaries) I'm 7 days post trigger and I still feel uncomfortable. Crampy stomach and stabby side pains, I feel like I wasn't expecting this! I felt recovered from the egg collection after about 48 hours When I had my embryo transfer yesterday the nurse struggled to get the US probe in the right place 'all I can see is ovary, bless you'. I think it should improve following period but I'm sure I've read it can take a few cycles for the fluid filled cysts to go.

I really hope you feel better soon!

@JenRi I'm now 19 days post trigger and 17 days post collection, my period has been and gone. I obviously didn't have a transfer, but I'm kinda glad other people also have large ovaries and its not just me. I have a scan tomorrow so we shall see. I'm still bloated and feeling pain though. Yeah, I saw "several months" on one website for the ovaries to fully go back to normal 🥹
I have no idea what the post transfer pain is supposed to be like if I'm honest, but hope it settles for you🤞🏻

@Callie25 it can take several months for your ovaries to reduce in size. I had egg collection in March and developed mild OHSS. Had 16 eggs collected. 2 months later I went for a baseline scan as part of my FET and my ovaries were still huge! As I was on oestrogen for the FET my ovaries had shut down, were showing no signs of activity or growing any follicles so could go ahead with the FET. My transfer worked and I had a scan at 6 weeks and my ovaries were still the same size.

@WhiskeyInTheJar33 how crazy! Glad you can still do the FET though! I had severe OHSS and on my last scan on Thursday imy ovary was 15cm. I'm still in a fair bit of discomfort with it so that's my problem really. Plus, isn't it risky to do exercise and stuff with an enlarged ovary because it can cause twist and cut blood supply? I've had large dermoid cysts in the past (which is why I only have one ovary now) and was told not to do anything too strenuous. Why is this whole process so hard!

@Callie25 my ovaries were around 10cm I think. I also have dermoid cysts on both ovaries. Have been ok so far.

I had mild OHSS after egg collection, so went ahead with a fresh transfer. About 5 days after transfer it turned into severe OHSS and I was hospitalised for 3 days. I wasn't given painkillers or anti sickness medication. One side was 19cm the other was 14cm and I added 8 inches to my waist with all the bloating! I was given IV fluids which helped it go down enough to go home.

The unofficial advice I got from my clinic was to drink 2L of lucozade sport (not the fizzy one) and 1L of other fluids a day, as well as adding salt to every meal.

The first day I drank loads of lucozades felt like it made a huge difference!

Then for exercise, Ive avoided any twisting or stretching exercises (they were uncomfortable) as well as anything with repetitive impact like running.

Repeat scan on Tuesday showed my ovary had gone down to 5cm - that's 18 days post collection. I went back to work today and I'm still in pain this evening. Hoping it gets better soon 🥺

@Callie25 just wondering how you are getting on?

I had a scan yesterday, ovaries down to 8cm, still a lot of excess fluid too. Currently 8weeks pregnant and feel like Im breathless all the time!
