Hi.

We had our baseline appt today at Ninewells. We both had our bloods taken, were both carbon monoxide tested, they checked my BMI was under 30 and I had a baseline scan and dummy transfer. The nurse administered my first Ovaleap and I have just did the second one tonight.

Anyone else at the same stage and would like to share the journey?

Hi! Just come across your post about your treatment at Ninewells and wondered how it all went. Hope you don’t mind me asking! We start next week, have had our bloods/bmi/carbon monoxide tests done. Have my first day 21 injection appointment next week and a bit nervous! 😬 x

Hi Ladies, thought I'd join. I'm also with ninewells and just had my frozen transfer today. It's my second transfer, my fresh transfer in August didn't take. Happy to answer any questions about treatment etc if I can xx

@Eagerlywaiting1990 hope everything went well today! How have you found Ninewells? I’m starting the long protocol treatment on next week, nervous about it all but hoping everything goes smoothly with the process!xx

@louemh25 thank you, think it went as well as it could so just got to wait it out now.
I personally have found them to be really good. I went through the long protocol as well and although I only got 7 eggs, I ended up with 6 embryos so they were right to not much for too many more as it's definitely quality over quantity. The only thing I did and do find difficult is the positivity - my husband and I felt invincible and then our first embryo didn't implant. On the other hand it was good to know the conditions were right and we've been much more level headed this time.
How are you feeling about it all? Xxx

@Eagerlywaiting1990 we don’t know anyone else who’s gone through fertility treatment so we’ve felt a bit lost and my husband has been stressed out but after our last visit to Ninewells we’ve been feeling a lot calmer, level headed is a good way to put it! Going into next week feeling confident we’re doing all the right things and in safe hands there!xx

@louemh25 I would agree. It's in their interest for things to go well for you, they want good statistics and they're in these jobs to help people have babies.

Your appt next week will be an injection in the bum (delightful I know) and possibly bloods for you and your husband. My advice would be that when you go back for your next appt to get stims (providing your lining has shed), ask to record what the nurse is doing with the pen (keeping their face out of it). That was the bit we found most difficult 😂 xx

@Eagerlywaiting1990 oh yeah thats good advice, no doubt we’d have forgotten by the time we get home! Is it easy enough to do on your own? My husband works shifts so hoping it’s straight forward enough to do when he’s not home!xx
