13dp5dt bfn - clinic say to wait 2 more days

Hi everyone, can you help?

I know this round hasn't worked. As the title says, we're 13dp5dt FET and have a BFN.
When I called the clinic they said to give it 2 more days, retest then let them know.

I don't know of anyone to have had a bfp past this point and go on to have a successful pregnancy.

Am I missing something? Are there cases that are successful that I'm not aware of? Why are they making me drag out the inevitable even longer?

Hi, I agree it seems unusual. Out of interest was it a fresh or frozen cycle?

Halftime23 · 17/07/2024 21:13

@LucyAvalon I thought otd being 13dpt was late as it is let alone then saying to wait 2 more days. It was a frozen cycle.
This is our first frozen cycle and we have moved clinics due to location amongst other things, and something has felt a little impersonal about this clinic the whole time, now this has made me feel more dubious that they maybe aren't the right fit for us. Am I being sensitive just because of the outcome do you think!

It’s really tricky, all clinics seem so different in their approach - even the other branches of my clinic has different OTD (some of them are 13 days whereas mine is 11) so it is hard to say. Have my fingers crossed for you!

Hey, I can’t offer advice but I’m in a similar situation where I’m testing neg (8dp5dt) but my clinics test date is 14dp. I do doubt a positive would show that late so I have no idea why they would make the wait so long. If anything I think it’s to avoid us taking up their time until the outcome is undeniable, avoiding extra questions and conversations.

Similar to you, I’ve been desperately searching for cases of late positives to give me hope! also FET and with a very impersonal factory line (nhs funded) clinic!

Sierra26 - I tested negative on 8dp5dt and positive on day 10 (I didn’t test on day 9)….altho not looking like a great success story so far!

@LucyAvalon will keep everything crossed for you.

@Sierra26 ive been the same since 8dp5dt - looking for late BFPs ending in successes, there are some out there though granted not many. Really hoping for you.

I just wish there was more uniformity across clinics so you feel you have any control of the situation. I know it's not wise to compare but when you're going through this stuff it's hard not to isn't it?

@LucyAvalon oh no, I hope things work out! Will be thinking of you.

@Halftime23 agree! But comparison is all we have when clinics won’t explain their reasoning. At least it helps talking to others!
