Sertraline and IVF

Hello,

Has anyone ever taken sertraline throughout the entire IVF process? If so, has there been any problems? My mental health isn’t great at the moment but I don’t want to take sertraline if it will cause any detrimental affects to my IVF treatment.

I’ve taken sertraline throughout, the clinic said they have a lot of women on it through treatment and my GP said it was safe to. I take it for anxiety and I think everything would have been much harder to handle without it.

I’m just scared to take it in case it affects implantation or anything. I’ve had 3 transfers now and the last one especially took its toll
on me mentally. I need to be calmer for the next one for sure but I’m just scared in case it has a negative affect. Especially if I start it now and have my transfer in the next couple of months. Would the sudden adjustment cause anything?

I began taking sertraline before my first round began, between initial appointments at the clinic. It took a couple of weeks but it’s made a huge difference to my state of mind, I don’t think I could have coped with the fertility treatment had I not got into a better state of mind. Have a chat with your GP and see what they suggest, for me it’s a been a game changer. Good luck xx
