Does anybody else have to get progesterone to 100 for FET?

I just want to know if anyone is in a simile boat.

I had a failed transfer a few months ago.

For the failed transfer I was on:

  • 3 cyclogest pessaries
  • 2 lubion injections

On the day of transfer my progesterone was 65. The clinic said they like it to be over 100 so I added in 3 Ultragestan pessaries to the mix. I had my progesterone tested 5 days later and it had gone up to 210 which they were happy with.

This transfer I therefore started off on more:

  • 3 cyclogest pessaries
  • 2 lubion injections
  • 3 Ultragestan pessaries

I had my transfer yesterday and they have rang me today to say my progesterone was 80, which they are happy with but still want it over 100 so now in addition to the above I'm also now taking 2 crinone gel pessaries.

Honestly my vagina cannot take any more things stuffed up it 🥲

The nurse said different people metabolise it differently but I just feel like i am on ALOT. I haven't seen anyone else on this much.

Just wondered if anyone else's clinic is similar.

Hi @lemons44 - I think we've been in other threads together- how are you?

My clinic like it to be over 40; I'm on 3x utrogestan, 2 x Cyclogest and 1 x lubion - I seriously do not know how you manage doing more than that!

My previous medicated FET transfer hovered around 30 only, resulted in chemical. I am currently on natural modified (I had trigger and progesterone); this meant I ovulated and produced natural progesterone too - and got up to 100 day before transfer - hoping this makes the difference for me!

Today is 5dp6dt for me; Are you transferring soon?

Hi there, I can’t imagine how stressful it is for you, really sorry to hear.

My clinic wanted me as close to 100 as possible, my fresh transfer failed and on day of bhcg my progesterone was at 32 from memory. Was on progynova tablets twice a day, cyclogest twice a day and prontogest intramuscular injections every other day.

My frozen transfer which was successful they changed to oestrogen patches and prontogest intramuscular injections every other day and cyclogest pessaries twice a day, on the day of my BFP my progesterone was still only measuring 46… so they made my butt injections daily until I was discharged at 8 weeks, at the time my progesterone only increase to 76! Every clinic has their own way, but if it’s not working for you do speak up. I asked my clinic if I could switch to Lubion as I hated having the prontogest, but they were keen to keep me on it (they said they had better results staying on it) so I stuck it out.

There’s a lot of discussion on how effective progesterone impacts implantation and pregnancy but it sounds like you have great numbers. Is it an option to do some of them anally? I remember reading on my cyclogest leaflet you could use the pessaries either way.

good luck x

Hi @MotherOfShihTzus it's so nice to hear from you again after being on the April thread 💗 I'm not sure if you would have tested by now but I'm keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I am 5dp5ft but not going to test yet.

Thanks for your reply @Lavendermarshmallows 💗 it does seem some people can be given very high amounts but not get high numbers straight away. I'm actually on my way to have a blood test now so should know by the end of the day how much it has increased to.

However I am really beginning to struggle with progesterone side effects. Such low mood and tearfulness 😩😭 I couldn't stop crying to my manager yesterday which was a bit embarrassing and I've cried again this morning over a pitta bread lol.

xx
