Modified natural FET

Can anyone help? I am having a natural FET (but now modified natural as I have had a trigger shot). In brief I had a day 10 monitoring scan where they said my lining was good and a lead follicle at 15mm. They asked me to come back in on day 11 (yesterday) so the consultant could scan me. It was all a big rush he did a quick scan said yes follicle at 18mm and lining at 10.5mm we will give you a trigger shot and you can have the transfer on Friday. Then he rushed off and left me with a nurse to give the trigger shot and meds. My treatment plan says I have to do 3 x cyclogest pessaries a day from today and transfer Friday so 6 days after trigger. I don’t even know if I’ve ovulated yet but I need to have the 5 days of progesterone before transfer but I can’t help but feel is it not too soon to start the pessaries. When I research it says the earliest it should be is 36 hours after trigger. I assume this is because they want to do the transfer Friday not Saturday but they aren’t open today so I can’t even ring them to find out. If I follow the instructions I need to get 3 pessaries in today and if I don’t I am only having 4 days of progesterone before transfer. Any similar experiences or advice?

Hi @Nk11, I’m sorry to hear it’s all been a bit rushed and you’re not feeling sure, that sounds stressful. I’m no expert in any way so can’t speak on what they’ve said to you, but I did a modified natural cycle back in May and I was told to start my progesterone (cyclogest 3 times a day) 2 days after my trigger injection. Is that the same for you? I then had my transfer 5 days after starting the progesterone (so 7 days after the trigger). Have you been monitoring your ovulation with ovulation tests?

@Sunnydaysahead1 thank you for replying. No this is where my confusion comes from, so I’d asked for a natural FET which isn’t standard for my clinic but I’ve done 3 medicated FET that haven’t worked so I wanted to try something different and have less meds. They said they would use a trigger if there was a risk of the transfer falling on a day when they don’t work so when I went in my for day 10 scan they said I was pretty much ready and asked me to come back the following day where the follicle had grown to 18mm and they said it doesn’t really matter much about that follicle so well trigger you now and then do the transfer on Friday so 6 days after trigger which means start progesterone today in order to have 5 days of progesterone before Friday but it means I’m starting before ovulating I assume so I just didn’t think that sounded normal but maybe because I am supplementing the progesterone my body will just catch up when it does ovulate. I’m going for a blood check on Wednesday so I’ll ask then but it will obviously be too late by then to change anything. I know I should just trust what they tell me to do but I overthink it all after 4 failed implantations and I’m doing a double this time.

@Nk11 oh I see, yeah that does sound quite soon to be starting the progesterone, but like you said hopefully your body will catch up with itself. And I guess the main thing is having the 5 days of progesterone? I can imagine it’s so hard to trust them especially if it also felt quite rushed with the consultant, and I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had 4 failed implantations. Can you give your clinic a call tomorrow morning to get some reassurance?
I really hope the transfer goes well on Friday, especially doing a double! I’ve got my fingers crossed it’s successful for you ❤️
