Hi, We are talking to a clinic abroad re IVF. I'm 42 and they are recommending PRP treatment. Does anyone have experience of this? It's fairly new but seems to help increase egg quality for older woman.

I'm planning on doing ovarian PRP aboard soon also! So can't give advice yet but I've read some great stories on it 🤞

I’ve had a consultation with a London clinic about prp after two failed ivf cycles. It’s got mixed results though and a lot of money, so I’m unsure currently.

I had ovarian PRP done overseas last year. My AMH had drastically reduced prior to the PRP. After PRP i had more follicles and did manage to get 1 egg however it was over mature therefore did not make it to fertilisation. I met another lady whilst at the Same clinic who also had PRP a couple times and unfortunately has not resulted in a positive result as yet.

I guess it depends on your circumstances as I do believe there is alot of benefit to it.

@Clocloxx and @AlleycatMarie did either of you end up doing PRP ovarian rejuvenation? I've been recommended it but can't find much about it given it's so new still and not fully studied.

AlleycatMarie · 17/10/2024 17:10

Hi @Lozzy000 we decided not to try it. It was so expensive and the results have been really mixed. Some doctors say it doesn’t work well for older women. However, some people have increased number of eggs collected with it.
Instead, we are trying natural modified ivf next month, as conventional ivf hasn’t worked for us unfortunately; no eggs collected.

Lozzy000 · 17/10/2024 20:12

Thanks so much @AlleycatMarie for your response. I'm a bad responder and just had my 4th cycle cancelled 😔 How much was your clinic going to charge for the RPR out of interest? I'm waiting for further details from my clinic.

So hard to know what to do..... it's likely going to be my last cycle so feel like I should throw everything at is, as long as it doesn't cause more harm than good.

Good luck with your cycle next month! X

Would you consider PRP overseas ? I had it done in Bulgaria along with ivf cycles and ovarian PRP cost under £300. With flights, hotel, food transfer etc it was significantly cheaper than anywhere else.

Hi @Lozzy000 I actually had it done October 3rd but I won't know the results for another 5 to 6 weeks when I start my 3rd ivf cycle to see if it made any improvements or not 🙃 xx

@Rosequartzz wow that's incredible!! Not sure how much my clinic are going to charge for it yet. But it will be my own consultant doing it, and I fully trust her.

@Clocloxx oh good luck!! I really hope it helps and you get a positive result from it. Can I ask your age / AMH and AFC? I'm 36 AFC of 7. But have had 4 cycles and never responded well.

X

Thanks @Lozzy000 I'm 31, amh 3 over a year ago, AFC 11.
1st ivf I only got 4 eggs none fertilized
2nd ivf 2 eggs both died off day 5 so I'm hoping to see a improvement in quality the doctor said it will only improve quantity for about 15% of people, I've read so much that it helps improve quality do 🤔 I'm going to do lower stims also in hopes to improve quality.. sorry to hear your last cycle was canceled! That's crap. I mean I don't know if the prp is a miracle treatment some say it is and others say it's not theirs a great fb group with loads of successful stories! But if you do it at least you can say you tried!

Lozzy000 · 18/10/2024 15:06

@Clocloxx yeah it's exactly that, if I don't try it, have I really tried everything.... as long as it doesn't have a negative impact. Especially if it's going to be my final cycle. Fingers are tightly crossed for you! X

Thanks @Lozzy000 I'm currently with serum in athens and do find them fantastic they explore every area that can cause infertility! I'm currently on a high dose of antibiotics over a hysteroscopy showed inflammation high up in my womb, my ivf seems alot more tailored compared to other clinics I've been too aswell, hopefully I can update the thread in a few weeks with positive news 🤞
Will you change clinics for your 4th round? Xx

Rosequartzz · 19/10/2024 21:38

Wishing you all the best @Lozzy000 and @Clocloxx xx

Lozzy000 · 19/10/2024 22:46

@Rosequartzz thank you!

@Clocloxx I've heard loads of positive things about Serum over the past few weeks. I've just moved clinics so I'm going to keep with them for the next cycle (did my first 3 at another clinic). They've done a lot more tests and have really tailored my protocol to my DOR. They're also the one offering PRP. My last clinic just blasted my ovaries with high dose stims.

Sounds like you're in great hands with Serum. Do update with how you get on. I'll also update if I do go ahead with PRP and confirm any outcome etc. x

AlleycatMarie · 20/10/2024 16:59

Hey @Lozzy000
I’m so sorry about your cycles. Mine were the same. Got to egg collection once, to try to get one and the follicle was empty.
I’m not sure for prp on its own, but it was going to costs £20,000 for one ivf cycle with three lots of prp.
It’s just so hard to know what to do for the best isn’t it? X

Lozzy000 · 21/10/2024 10:17

@AlleycatMarie wow that's extortionate!! Double what I've usually paid for each cycle! Still waiting for the info and costs of it at my clinic, hopefully will get this week as just want to start planning next steps now x

Best of luck @Lozzy000 when are you due to start?
@AlleycatMarie that is very expensive! I paid 1800€ for PRP the ivf cycle is then 3k, obviously you need to factor in add ons and travel, it's worth having a look around if you feel you're not getting anywhere with you're current clinic

Lozzy000 · 22/10/2024 16:55

@Clocloxx thank you! If we go ahead with PRP then we'll do that on my next cycle, so November. Still waiting to get the info and find out where in the cycle they do it plus how much it is so I can budget. And work out if I can afford it 😂😂 xxx
