Hello, I’ve just had my first failed embryo transfer from a grade A embryo at TFP simply fertility. I have two frozen both grade C. Has anyone got any advice or experiences with having grade C’s transferred, or experiences from this clinic? I’m not sure whether to have them both transferred next time, I will wait until August to try again. Thank you x

Hey I’m in a similar situation… just had my first unsuccessful round at simply fertility. I have one embryo frozen which is a grade A but was frozen on day 6 so I believe has a lower chance of working.

I’m planning to ask them to explain their grading system when I have my follow up appointment with the consultant because all the information I’ve read online refer to grades that are a number and two letters, which have specific definitions around the the stage it’s reached and the quality of the cells. When I had my fresh transfer they said it was a grade B but would probably become an A within a few hours, which suggests Simply just grade them on what stage they’ve reached rather than the actual quality?

Do you have an appointment with them to discuss next steps? I’m hoping to start the frozen transfer round in August too if possible.

Hey Marie! So nice to find someone on the same journey at the same place! So when I went for my transfer and the embryologist said I had one A, I did say does it not have numbers too as I had read it should do, and she said they keep it simple there and just do letters. I’ve since read online not to read too much into the grading and if it’s viable that’s all that matters. I was quite optimistic as I had two friends fall first time with a grade A, but I kept testing early so knew it hadn’t worked, no line at all. I’ve just come on today (I stopped injections and pessaries Friday). I have two C’s frozen one is 5 day one is 6. I’ve made an appointment with the consultant in a few weeks. Did you make one? I did it on Friday when I called up with my negative result.
I think it’s deffo best to have a break before the next one, so will deffo wait till august.
how many eggs did you have collected? Xx

Ah we must have had our transfers on the same day because I called in with my negative result on Friday too! But I was in the same position with testing early so I’d already accepted last weekend that it hadn’t worked.

It’s great that you had two to freeze - as you say the grades aren’t the most important thing so between them it should give you a decent chance. I was so worried during the process that something would go majorly wrong, like nothing fertilising or nothing surviving to day 5, so I’m at least feeling positive now that we’re capable of producing blastocysts. I’m going in for my follow up appointment next week but I don’t think I have too much I want to discuss with them, just to make plans for the frozen transfer.

I had 9 eggs collected, 7 mature, 6 fertilised, and 2 blastocysts, so I think a fairly typical drop off. What about you? We have mild male factor but no known issues on my side.

Hi!! Im at simply too. In the TWW. It’s my 3rd transfer and we have no more in the freezer so will be onto our 2nd EV if it doesnt work.

I dont have experience of other clinics but I really like Simply. I know it sounds silly but IVF is a lot of anxious waiting. One thing I love about the clinic is you can always speak to someone and if you have questions they always come back to you the same day, never leave you hanging.

They are kind and compassionate and if this works I’ll genuinely miss going there.

Wishing us all success on this journey xxx

Ah best of luck! The TWW is definitely the worst part! I agree they are all really lovely at simply and very helpful. Keeping everything crossed for you 🙏🏻
