Anyone booked for a hycosy this month?

I’ll have mine next week and they’ll count the follicles at the same time. I will be day 14 of my cycle then. I don’t want to skip any month so if my body will be up for it we will try on the evening of if I get an LH surge lol. I am 36 y/o and recently found out about my low AMH of 3.5. The AMH result was a shocker as I had very regular periods. But at least now we know and knowldge is power! My FSH was 9.1. We’re considering to try naturally for around 3 months and then go down the IVF route privately (sadly for my area NHS won’t fund due to my AMH level).

Anyway I read hycosy could potentially increase your chances so I wonder if anyone is having one soon and we can keep each other updated? I wish you all the best of luck! Manifesting a BFP soon xx

I had a hsg last month, which is similar just with an xray.
It was very painful and I bled for a few days afterwards It was done cd8 and by time cd12 I was fine and we tried 3x before I ovulated in cd16. Didn't get pregnant but have heard it is for up to three cycles following that you're more fertile.

I would say don't put pressure on it this month if you're in pain, but then plenty women have the test and don't even feel it so see how you get on first. 😊

Thanks @riverlodge90 ! I just read others’ experience of it and I think I was being too naive to consider DTD the evening of! I’ll see how I get on but will probably need some time to recover. Best of luck to us xx

Just had my hycosy today and tubes all ok. Dr also said he saw 9 follicles which he said was normal for my age. One is dominant which makes sense as I am on day 14 of my cycle today. I read that afc could have been higher at the beginning of cycle (forgot to ask the dr about that!) so I’m pleased with the result given my amh of 3.5. He seemed quite blasé about my amh and said if I have the means then do ivf soon but also said if I want to try naturally for 3 months or so then that should be fine too and my amh will not drop in that period of time? He also said it’s absolutely safe to dtd this evening. I did tell him what i read on here that one woman was told to wait until the next cycle after hycosy because the effect of the dye is unknown but he said this is not true at all and that I am encouraged to do it and can start this evening if I feel up to it!

Re the procedure itself, it was fine but just very uncomfortable at times but nothing untolerable. I took paracetamol an hour before and have a high pain tolerance though. No bleeding or pain whatsoever after.

We also have an appointment with Lister next week for a second opinion if it’s ok to wait 3 mos or if better to crack on with ivf now.
