Thin uterus lining - FET

I’ve just been for a scan on day 14 of cycle - 13th day of meds. My endometrial lining is still thin - less than 7mm.

I have severe endometriosis and have had an emergency laparotomy in the past. So it could be there’s some scar tissue there.

This is our second FET. I had the same issues with lining the first time around although it got up to the lower side of what they would deem acceptable after about three weeks of meds. We then did an ERA cycle and found I need more hours of progesterone this time around.

I’m feeling really down about it and starting to lose hope. We have three euploid embryos left - and we can’t afford another egg collection. So really needing some luck on our side for this to happen.

If anyone else has experienced thin lining - or even had success with a thinner lining - it would be great to hear from you.

@lemons44 Its an alternative therapy basically based on the theory that your hands and feet, and ears are connected to certain organs and body systems, so they massage and place pressure on certain parts (my one does feet), and it’s supposed to help regulate hormones, boost blood flow etc. it’s similar to acupuncture in that I don’t really know how much difference it makes but it definitely relaxes me, and gives me something I can do when I feel so helpless a lot of the time!

How did your scan go?

Hi @Always28
The scan went ok, my lining was 7.3-7.5 which they was happy with and I was happy with that too. I then stayed on eostrogen for another two days and started progesterone on Wednesday. My embryo transfer is on Monday.

I'm too scared to ask them to check the lining again after starting progesterone as I have read that it can condense the lining down for some people, which is normal, and that different people react differently so some people it compresses it down and some people it doesn't.

It's very confusing!!

How are you finding the 2WW?

xx

Hi,
I just wondered if anyone on this thread who was on vitamin E stopped it after embryo transfer?
I had my transfer today and wasn't sure if I should stop it.
x

Rosequartzz · 08/07/2024 18:59

@lelemons44 I had my embryo transfer today as well. Wishing you all the best ! I've been told to continue the vitamin e. I've had lubion added 2 x a day as progesterone was showing borderline today.
How are you feeling ?

Always28 · 08/07/2024 19:03

I’ve continued my vitamin E during the two week wait.

Thats great you have both had your transfers. Good luck to you both.

my OTD is on Wednesday. I will keep you posted. I’ve had a BFP but had a little bit of brown spotting this morning so feeling very nervous I could be losing it.

Keeping everything crossed for you @Always28 ❤️ stay as positive as you can xx sending big hugs x

lemons44 · 08/07/2024 21:18

Hi @Always28 I'm so sorry that after a BFP you are now facing this worry. I'm also keeping everything crossed for you.

@Rosequartzz I hope your transfer went ok, mine was quite straightforward and quick which was good. My last FET they wanted my progesterone higher so this time I'm on loads of progesterone! 2 lubions, 3 cyclogest and 3 Ultragestan ..feeling quite gassy and emotional. When have your clinic asked you to test? Mine is 14dp5dt.

Rosequartzz · 09/07/2024 06:29

@lemons44 wow that is alot of progesterone. As mine was borderline, it's gone up by 1 x 25 mg lubion per day. I am already on 2 x cyclogest.

OTD is 10dp 5dt therefore next Thursday. It'll come around very quick. TBH I don't know if it's my day 5 or day 6 one that got transferred, we forgot to ask.

Transfer went well, I had Endometrial scratch done in May as part of hysteroscopy and used embryo glue for the transfer, hoping for the best possible outcome.

lemons44 · 09/07/2024 10:35

@Rosequartzz
I know, I have noticed my clinic is really heavy on the meds compared to some other clinics.

Are you doing anything differently after transfer? I booked today and tomorrow off work just to take it a bit easier, however apart from avoiding lifting anything heavy I think I'm kind of acting normal. This is my 4th transfer and not had a BFP yet so hoping this may be our lucky one.

Rosequartzz · 09/07/2024 11:33

@lemons44 we have a fertility policy in place at work and it's a bit of stressful toxic place so I've taken the entire 2 weeks off. My clinic is in Barcelona so I've been going for lots of walks, enjoying the warm weather, reading and staying outdoors as much as possible. My plans are to stay active, get out and about and not be too delicate with myself which is what I did last time. I'm using online yoga and manifesting as well as acupuncture once I'm back to UK tomorrow afternoon

I've made plans for lunches and dinners with friends & family, last time I hid away, went for a walk, sat infront of the tele and napped, was a bit depressing to be fair.

What are you doing differently?

Always28 · 10/07/2024 06:28

Morning. It’s my official test date today and I got a fast appearing BFP so it’s looking good right now. I’ll keep you posted but hopefully this is a thin lining success story.

@Always28 amazing news - congrats!!! ❤️

Rosequartzz · 10/07/2024 16:07

Amazing news @Always28 ! Congratulations to you 🥰🥰🥰

lemons44 · 10/07/2024 16:20

Huge congrats @Always28 !

@Rosequartzz your situation sounds very similar to mine. Last FET I took it very easy and wasn't very active, doing similar to you like lots of TV. This time I am trying to be more 'normal' about things and just get out with life.

Also I tested early last time and it really stressed me out getting BFNs but knowing I had to keep on my meds as it was too early to be accurate. So I think this time I'm going to avoid testing until OTD. Also just saw FRERs on Amazon are like £17!!!! No idea why they are so expensive right now.

@Always28 how did you spend the TWW? Any tips? xx

Hi everyone just wanted to share my fertility clinic started me on vagifem (estradiol) 10mcg twice a day on CD10 when they saw I have a dominant follicle which was good to go but my lining was 5.7mm. They want it at least 7mm. The next day (so following 3 doses of vagifem), lining went up to 8.8mm so they were happy to trigger me then. I am not doing a FET, it’s my first monitored letrozole cycle but thought I’d share as it looks like vagifem improved my lining. I was asked to continue this, plus progesterone until my official test day.

I’m updating this thread in case anyone comes across it when looking for thin lining success stories. Our little miracle baby girl was born on 25th Feb.

So a thin lining doesn’t always mean a negative result. She still managed to bury herself in there.

Good luck to anyone else on their journey.
