Buserelin- advice please!

Hi all!
First round of IVF- on long protocol. Currently injecting Buserlin- on day 11 of injections. My period hasn’t arrived (definitely not pregnant!) I have been advised to call my clinic on the 12th if it doesn’t. A question I should have asked at the time, but forgot was- what do they do if your period does not arrive? I’m booked in for baseline scan on the 14th.
Has this happened to anyone one else?

Yes, my period was 4 days late on buserelin. It can be common for it to be delayed. I was really panicked but found lots of similar stories online of delayed periods, but it always starts eventually. But I guess if it really takes ages they can give you something to induce the bleed.

Is this your first round?

The first time I did short protocol which was not as bad as I feared, was all over really quickly. But when I did long protocol it did feel like it when on and on, and my delayed period put me a week behind where I was expecting. So if you’re waiting to start, just be aware there can be delays and don’t get too focused on set dates.

IVF didn’t work very well for me as I only got 3 eggs first time which led to one blastocyst which didn’t implant. And my second round I only got one egg, but incredibly that one egg has resulted in me being 5 weeks pregnant!! Very early days, but I think the lesson is that anything is possible in IVF - you hear of women getting 20+ eggs and no pregnancy so try not to get to caught up on numbers. Everyone is different and every embryo is different.

I was on a support thread on here where I found other women at a similar stage which was a god send as having a group of people all doing same thing at same time was great as I found there is a limit to how much I can talk to friends and family in real life about ivf!
