Hi all,

I am currently taking Benadryl for allergies and my clinic has said they don't recommend antihistamines during pregnancy. What is everyone else doing for allergies or what advise is out there?

Hello, I’ve had IVF, been pregnant and breastfed and the only thing anyone actually recommends during all this is Sterimar nose spray.
A nightmare for hay fever sufferers really! I found the spray does help though, not as strong as antihistamines but it does help!

I took beconase nasal spray throughout ivf and pregnancy as I have pollen induced asthma and the need to breathe was important! Clinic and midwives all aware. I did change to nasal spray from tablets though when trying to get pregnant.

On my first pregnancy my GP and pharmacy told me I couldn’t take any antihistamines, but I asked my consultant obgyn at one of my antenatal appointments and she said it was perfectly safe to take any antihistamine. So I took them for a couple of months of my pregnancy and was fine.
