Pelvic MRI when TTC, should I avoid?

Hi there.

TTC naturally at 44 so already a massive challenge as you can imagine and uber-conscious about anything that just might have a negative impact on fertility, egg quality in particular.

I’m due for a private pelvic/lower back MRI scan in a week’s time for a minor issue, which I now feel may be resolving itself anyway.

I’ve read that although MRIs are radiation free and generally safe in pregnancy etc…they avoid giving them in the first trimester because of concern about the womb potentially overheating slightly in the process which makes me think then could damage developing ovarian follicles, but just my own theory of course and would love to hear if someone else has any knowledge of this.

I’ll be in in the middle of my next follicular phase then and around 5 days from ovulation so don’t want to risk hampering my chances further.

thanks for reading
