Clinic sex ban - how strict are your clinic ?

After 18 months of waiting to get started I’m officially done with the sex ban !!

are all of your clinics so strict ! ?

they say none 3 weeks before or until either next period or first pregnancy scan

as we are constantly waiting to start stims it’s just getting a bit annoying now !!

such a minimal chance of natural conception it seems a bit excessive !

or does everyone just ignore the silly rules ?!

I only ever adhere to it a week before the FET (to prevent infections) and during the TWW (as the uterine contractions will affect implantation) :)

Thank you I’m thinking to just ignore it now

could be 3 weeks or another 6 months 😅

They only said not to do it from time of last period to the transfer as they wanted to be confident I wasn’t pregnant as even though unlikely could happen. That wasn’t Too long though.

We were never put on a sex ban…, my dh has azoospermia so zero chance of natural conception so I can only imagine the ‘ban’ is solely to prevent pregnancy during treatment.

I did however put myself on one just before EC (through fear I’d push the eggs out if I had an intense O 😂) and during the TWW, as again I didn’t want to ‘shake’ anything out lol

But I do think the point above about infections is a good one actually, especially if you’re prone to thrush / bv

Yeah I can understand 2-3 weeks before but when it dragging on over a year it’s getting a bit frustrating!!

sure my tubes aren’t going to magically fix themselves !
