Hi there, I will try give a brief history starting from when we were seen at the fertility clinic in June last year 2023.

I have pcos and have long cycles after trying for couple of years my gp referred us to the fertility clinic and me and my husband were finally seen last June.

All his tests came back great, and I started letrozole in July.

we conceived on our second cycle of letrozole in aug but I had a miscarriage at 6weeks in the sept.

After a non ovulatory cycle in November, from December onwards we had 6 more cycles of letrozole which i ovulated each time with excellent progesterone levels and good uterine lining thickness, but each time have failed to conceive again.

So now our fertility dr has recommended us trying the gonadotropin ovulation induction for 3 cycles, which I know involves x2 weekly scans and bloods.

Has anyone had better luck at concieving with this? I’m struggling with the idea because I ovulated basically each time with the letrozole so do these injections increase the likelihood of a pregnancy?

I feel so defeated and confused as to why this isn’t happening for us even though we time baby dancing so well each month. I feel like a failure 😞💔

Thank you so much in advance to anyone who take the time to read this, I really appreciate it. X

I wonder why they don't suggest moving to IVF at this stage. Can you ask if that's what they plan to do next if this doesn't work?
Seems like they are suggesting trying a different way to get you to ovulate when you already know you ovulate but it's the conception that's the issue. Maybe it's more effective in some way?!
I did 3 rounds of Letrozole with IUI and did get pregnant once but miscarried at 8 weeks. After that I moved to IVF with ICSI, but we are private as not entitled to NHS so it was more up to us.
Sorry you're going through this, sounds like you've done a lot of medicated cycles already.

@AnnieStar12 hi there thank you so much for you’re reply.

Sorry to hear of your loss 💔

Hope everything is going well for you now.

So ivf is the next step after this, my BMI was 1 off of what they want it to be to refer for ivf so they offered this. The plan is to possibly do 3 rounds of this then if nothing by then my bmi should be under there guidelines for referral and it’s about a year waiting list atm.

I am 10dpo today I think and bfn on a frer so this was the last letrozole cycle.

i wish you all the best x
