Starting provera period randomly started !

Helps of course clinic now shut over holidays

due to start provera today woken up to surprise period ! I’ve taken it but worried it’s going to screw up the cycle

had this happened to anyone else ?? Did you continue provera ?

@Rebekah77 omg I have the exact situation today ! But mine medicine is called norethiserone , it does the same thing as yours . I was ment to start it on Friday cycle day 23, but I started period spotting on day 22, very very weird early cycle , never had one this early , but I know it’s due to no ovulation this cycle that’s why it started early ! So I rang the clinic and they said keep taking the tablets still as I was only started to spot and within 2 days it didn’t get heavier and now it’s stopped completely ! So tht means that it won’t mess you cycle up , I thought the same , as long as you can get it under control fast !

but I’m not sure how heavy your bleeding is , if it’s really heavy , the tablets might not help anymore, and you’d have to wait for your next period to start again :(

@Rebekah77 omg 7 months , crazy isn’t it !
but in my own opinion , If you are flooding with period blood already , I wouldn’t take anymore tablets and just let the period carry on and finish , because I can’t see how it would stop such a big flow . But that’s just me . I was just spotting brown when I took it so I guess it was easy for my body to stop this with medicine . I’m not sure how it would affect your next ivf cycle if half of your period have gone and passed already by the time the tablets stops the rest of it , if it does at all . But good luck anyways let me know what you decide xx

@Rebekah77 okay lovely ! Hopefully it stops very soon for you and all goes well for near future ! Do you have any extra progesterone pessaries by any chance ? I do and I took 2 of these too on the first day for progesterone boost :)

I mean I took progesterone pessaries when spotting started , as well as norethisterone , maybe that’s why my spotting stopped so fast

Hi, did you carry on with Provera, did you bleeding stop eventually?

It did stop a few days before the end of the course . But of course that meant it didn’t work ! so could not proceed with starting treatment cycle
