Care fertility - first appt

Good morning

Is anyone able to give me an insight into what happened @ their first fertility appt please ?

Hey - I’m with Care. I did mine in a different order, but first you’ll have an appointment where they’ll do some tests and an internal scan (which goes up inside you!) They’ll count your eggs etc and go through your medical history.

Second appointment will be with the consultant who will explain what treatment you’ll be on and a rough start date.

I had done my internal scan and all other tests with a different clinic so I went straight from that to speaking to the consultant at Care rather than have the initial appointment, but brought all the tests results and scans with me.

I had a transvaginal scan last summer

Then a miscarriage last autumn

Had another transvaginal this yr
Where they confirmed pcos

Ive had private hormone and fertility tests done twice with hertility health too

I had the scans where they count follicles and test AMH, husband had a sperm test and then the consultant forms your protocol with that information. My consultation was on the phone rather than an in person one for some reason, my husband needed to be there too listening. You have another baseline scan once you start your protocol after cycle day 1 (if short protocol) once meds have arrived.

Says to take partner

Hes doing a private sperm test Tuesday but will take the results of that with us..

Theyve asked gp to do some more bloods in advance of appt
Which are being done this month

Emotional times

Im 37 and pcos
And miscarriage history..
I feel time is ticking

Some areas of th4 county dont fund NHS IVF if you are 38 /( over 37)

Tis quite a postcode lottery
