Antibiotics in FET / microbiome / implantation failure

Has anyone taken doxycycline during a FET? I am about to start my third FET after previous failed implantation. I did a Daye microbiome test that came back positive for ureaplasma that said the level was outside what is considered normal. It also said my good bacteria levels were at 63% and they need to be over 80%. I told my clinic this who said they didn't know much about microbiome and they wouldn't prescribe antibiotics for it. Having read that some clinics prescribe these antibiotics for this very reason I managed to get hold of some from pharmacy online but I am wondering whether I should take them now (cycle day 1), or wait until closer to the transfer day. Just wondering if anyone has any shared experiences to do with this and/or microbiome for implantation.

Also any recommendations for good probiotics?

Hi @Nk11 I'm in the same boat. I'm currently having a chemical from a medicated FET, so have got myself some antibiotics in case that's the issue (2 x back to back IVF chemicals). I'm don't know when or how many to take so also looking for guidance!

@MotherOfShihTzus after researching loads I decided I would take them 2 weeks before my embryo transfer so that I have a week clear to rebuild some good bacteria. Some clinics prescribe them for up to including the day of transfer so they can’t be harmful. I found some useful podcasts on microbiome and they said if you don’t have time to rebalance the good bacteria just get rid of the bad and that should help. Will see how it goes. So difficult to feel like I get nowhere every time I do a transfer this is the 4th now. Also hate doing all the drugs and then it tiring out to be for notjing

Hello
im wondering if Ureaplasma affects embryos already produced (now frozen)
we did a cycle and have 5 embryos frozen. We tested for ureaplasma etc after this cycle as fresh transfer didn’t work.
Ureaplasma came back positive.
We took doxy for 2 weeks, retested and tests were negative.
However, now I’m worried about the frozen embryos and will they be affected by the initial Ureaplasma infection from the sperm?
