Frozen Embryo transfer - 3rd round

Hey, thank you for reading.

I am very fortunate to already have a little one (4 now) by a successful second round of IVF

I have decided to try again and use one of the 5 frozen embryos I have.

It’s been such a long time since I have done this and want to ensure I am doing as much as I can for it to be successful. I am also 41 so time is certainly against me 🙏

Starting with vitamins etc, any idea of what I need to start talking , or recommended? Has anyone took, co enzyme q10?

I have my scan booked in next week so first steps and hopefully all being well transfer in June

Any advice what to do what not to do would be so helpful x

Thanks J

There really is no good evidence anything makes a difference but of course up to you what you want to take. A regular multi vit wouldn't do any harm. Q10/ubiquinol is usually taken to supposedly improve egg quality so as your embryos are already formed there is no reason to add that - again lack of evidence in any case. Good luck :)

I have returned to my clinic to try for another DC with my frozen embryos. They wanted to check my vitamin D levels (and actually then prescribed vitamin D). Otherwise they have told me to take conception vitamins and an extra folic acid, have a healthy lifestyle and not to go to extremes.
I don’t think your age is particularly against you considering that the embryos have already been created. My clinic have said that sometimes a C-section scar can cause issues but that there’s no point worrying about it too much as nothing can be done about it now. Also that sometimes a transfer just doesn’t work even if everything seems good. I’ve recently had a failed FET but won’t do anything different for the next one. Good luck with your treatment.

Thank you for responding. I’m sorry to hear about your failed FET. We have a chat today with the consultant after the scan on Wednesday so will find out today if it can go ahead and what the next steps are. Sending baby dust your way x
