Done with the NHS - best private clinics in the South East?

Please could anyone recommend a clinic the South East (ideally South of London) which is excellent for private IVF treatment?

We've been on this journey for 3 years now, and we have just heard that our most recent round of IVF is not going ahead. They refused us the funding because we need to use donor sperm (as my DH has health conditions and we tried ICSI twice which didn't work).

It was strongly implied that it would be agreed, so we've waited A YEAR only to be told no, they won't fund it.

I'm feeling so angry and upset about this and since we now need private treatment, I want to get far away as possible from the clinic we have been using.

Does anyone have any recommendations please for places that have excellent patient care?

Hey,

I'm so sorry that you are going through that - its appalling that you have had to wait so long - only to be turned away.

Not sure if this would be any help - my husband had low sperm (including motility and morphology) he started proxeed plus and saw it improve to 'borderline' and some within the limits. (Others recommend impryl but he hasnt personally tried that).

We used Kings fertility and I can highly recommend it - our experience is always really pleasant - we dont feel rushed in our appointments and tend to get appointsments when we need them.

Negatives are you usually see a different consultant each time (however I personally havent found this a problem and in fact - it helped getting two different opinons on a issue I had) There are no so thorough and everyone is lovely.

They respond via Email/Phone relatively quickly, the facilities are clean and tidy. Everyone is knowledgeable.

I dont feel like they add tests etc for no reason - other people had told me that you needed a number of blood tests etc but this wasnt the case for me. Even when i recommend a hycosy - the consultant still left this decision in my hands rather than forced.

Any questions - happy to answer.

I recommend King's Fertility as well.

Thank you so much @Optimistic66 and @contentsmayb If you funded privately, can I ask how much you paid for a round?

@Optimistic66 My DH has tried all the supplements etc unfortunately, he's in his late 40's and has health conditions too. At this point we know that it's just not going to work and we're at peace with the decision to use a donor. Unfortunately the clinic/ NHS are trying to insist we keep flogging a dead horse and using his sperm even though we know it will not work.

Thank you so much for the kind words, this whole thing has been so traumatic and difficult for us. We will check out King's xx

Depending on your meds (they were around 1,800), add-ons, etc. I think they have very moderately priced services compared to other clinics. They have prices posted online. We paid 3,500 for one cycle (i think they raised prices a little it seems, says 3,800 now). That does not include meds and things like PGT-a testing, ISCI, etc. But included all appointments, transfer and necessary tests.

We bought a 3-cycle package as it was cheaper. We are told that on average it takes 3-4 cycles to conceive. We initially bought 1 cycle, but then upgraded to 3.

@contentsmayb Thank you so much, that's very helpful info.

My current clinic charge closer to £10k for a round of private IVF (and in our experience theit patient care has been nowhere near good enough to justify that sort of cost!) It's good to know there are good places charging what seem like much more reasonable prices.
