IUI/IVF waiting list

Hello

I have just had a clinic appointment and have been added to the waiting list for IUI/IVF.
The consultant said it is a 3/4month wait on the NHS.

My diagnosis is unexplained infertility, we have been TTC since December 2022 and had a miscarriage in November 2023. I just want to know what can do in the next 3/4months to improve my chances?

I live a healthy lifestyle, exercise regularly, don't smoke/drink.

I asked him about Coq10 and he said there is no evidence to support this.

We are doing 3 rounds of IUI and then if unsuccessful we get 1 round of IVF on the NHS. I want to do everything I can to improve my chances.

Any advice of what I can do? I am still tempted to try Coq10.

Weird they said there’s no evidence on CoQ10 - my consultant recommended it and it’s well known to support egg quality!

My consultant and fertility dietician also suggested Vitamin D, a good fertility supplement and a healthy Mediterranean type diet with higher protein and fewer carbs. I also cut caffeine which my consultant just said to reduce but dietician said to remove.

For sperm the same applies but a smaller dose of CoQ10, no baths, cycling and tight underwear for men. Reduce drinking and caffeine.

I'm planning on ignoring his advice to be honest. I have seen lots of evidence to support it!

Thankyou very much for the advice I will be doing all of that😊

@baby197 A lot of people recommend the book 'it starts with an egg' for helping boost egg quality. Best of luck

Hello, I had unexplained infertility too. Now have 2.5 year old dd and ttc a sibling. I take proceive max, folate, omega 3, 600mg ubiquinol, vit d. I did IVF and all 8 of my eggs made blastocysts and 6 were frozen. I like to think my supplements helped.

My clinic recommended vit c, d and e alongside folic acid. Good luck

I was also recommended CoQ10 by my clinic.

Do your own research, but I've been on it for 6 months now and I don't know if it's done any good but it certainly hasn't done any harm.
