Has anyone tried Letrozole after failed IVF?

Hi everyone. I have had 3 rounds of IVF, all have failed with the first transfer not resulting in a pregnancy, the second being a MMC and the third we didn’t get to transfer as the embryo arrested on day 3. My consultant has not recommended any more IVF treatment due to age and AMH.

My consultant said I could try ovulation induction as a last ditch attempt as I do not regularly ovulate and have mild PCOS. There are no male factors.

Has anyone had treatment this way round? Obviously IVF is the gold standard but I’m not ready to give up whilst I still have eggs.

TIA

Hi

didn't want to read and run, but hope you are okay. I know how deflating it can be when you don't get the news you hope for.

how low is your AMH? There are a lot of people on here who have really low AMH who do you manage to get pregnant?

Hi @Optimistic66 thanks for your reply. My AMH was 0.3 in September last year so very low.

IVF is brutal. I don’t want to be that desperate woman but I still have eggs so ovulation induction is a last resort for us.

Each IVF round was so different and I got my body in the best shape and feel as you say deflated.

I would try letrozole or clomid - there no harm - you just need one egg to mature each month and it might just work! xx

@Optimistic66 thank you. Yes, nothing to lose I guess except £! Xx

I know but if it works - it will be the best money you spent and i similarly am doing letrozole and i pay approx £1k a month and i see that if i did 6 months as once cycle of IVF but potentially 6 chances to fall pregnant.

@Optimistic66 that’s a really good way to look at it. How are you finding the medication?

My clinic want to test my FSH levels before starting to see if it is even possible to try the medication.
