ICSI IVF - Embryo grade?

Hi,

I'm 2DP5DT (we had a fresh transfer and this is my first cycle). No symptoms yet..

The embryo transferred was rated an A which is amazing and we're so pleased ... but I've seen a lot of ratings are usually a number and 2 letters... whereas I only got 1 letter!
I've received this image today from the clinic of the embryo and was wondering... based on peoples experiences... does this look like a good 'grade A' to anyone?!

What does a hatching embryo mean/look like? (Keep seeing things about that too!)

Thanks so much!

Hey, we had our first transfer with a grade A too and are currently 11 weeks pregnant, so sending you lots of luck!

Our clinic told us grade A has 56% chance of working, grade C has 50% chance of working and grade B was somewhere between. I did wonder as others seemed to get more detailed gradings but i just felt that the more I dove into looking the more I would stress myself out so just decided to take the clinics word for it! We didn’t get a pic so can’t comment on that either sorry but fingers crossed 🤞

Ahh congratulations!!!! Thats amazing! Did you wait until OTD to get your BFP?
I really hope little baby embryo sticks!! We were super lucky as we managed to get 3 As and 3 Cs on this round (so 5 have been frozen) so feeling like we've had lots of luck so far so praying it continues 🙏

Thank you! No way lol we did 2 rounds of IUI prior and didn’t wait then either! Had a BFN on 4dp5dt so we knew then the trigger was out of my system, then got our BFP on 7dp5dt, the line was sooooo faint though.

Thats amazing news well done, that’s the first hurdle then and it’s so reassuring to know you have more in the freezer. Although now I am already worrying about what to do with our frozen embies in the future 🫣

How are you coping with the wait? I found it a strug but also embraced chilling for 4 days which was nice!

Haha I don't blame you!
I think I'll be testing soon too! I am going to try and hold out until 6 or 7dp if I can as I know its unlikely I'd see any form of positive before then and seeing a negative will really suck - but I also don't know how patient I can be as I'm not the most patient of people...
Tbh either way, I'd rather be prepared if its a negative so I can start accepting it - BUT hopefully that wont be the case!

And yeah I'll be honest I can't stop googling everything haha!
I also keep thinking I'm cramping... BUT... I was still cramping from my egg collection so I imagine its still the ovaries as its generally coming from the left side rather than the middle haha.

I just hope time doesn't go too slow... !!

I felt exactly the same in terms of preparing either way! Just be prepared to fall into testing every day after you first test as it’s impossible not to once you start 🫣

I had similar one sided pain, also I think from the ovaries as even at the viability scan at 6+5 one of my ovaries was still quite swollen. Impossible not to google isn’t it! I would say my main symptom was cramping which just felt typical like typical pre period cramps and then I got a headache 3 or 4 days in that I couldn’t shift for about 5 days. The fertility nurses said it was probably the fluctuation in hormones. Aww honestly wishing you all the luck! Update us when you can, hopefully with good news!

I'm certainly no expert (but I have had a few transfers!) and I think it looks good. Have a look online but those little bumps around the inner edge are all fairly equally sized which is good. Looks like it is maybe hatching too which is that little bubbly bit on the bottom left. It needs to hatch to implant. Have a look on YouTube, plenty of embryo time lapse videos on there!

Ps good luck!
