Late period but negative pregnancy test after IVF?

Hi all,

I recently had my second round of ICSI with the embryo transfer on 13 March.

My period is later than it has ever been before (5 days late / 33-day cycle), but I have taken two pregnancy tests and they are both negative.

Logically I know I am most likely not pregnant, and I have read online that IVF medication can cause late or completely missed periods. But I am just wondering if anyone ever experienced the same?

On Wednesday I will go to my fertility clinic for a pregnancy test, so either way I will have clarity then. I'm just finding the waiting and uncertainty quite hard!

Are you on progesterone? That will delay your cycle if it’s not worked sadly. But the clinic usually wants a negative blood test before stopping/assuming it’s failed. Good luck!

Hi @GoldenDoor, yes I am on progesterone and was wondering if this could be the reason. I will keep taking my medication until my blood test on Wednesday, just in case. Thanks for replying 🙂
