Cold/Flu or Covid during 2WW

Hi All,

I had a FET today and a few hours later my partner has tested positive for Covid. The onset of symptoms has been quite rapid. I’m trying to now isolate as much as possible and wear a mask around home but it’s likely too late already. I understand that high temperatures, such as from a fever, are bad news for embryos.

My question is if anyone has been in a similar situation either being exposed to covid or having a cold/virus during the 2WW? I’ll call my clinic for their advice tomorrow but keen to know if there is anything I can do to protect myself and the embryo.

Maybe things like the Vicks first défense spray and gargling with hard core mouthwash to try and reduce the viral load if you do get it?
Although I appreciate I haven’t checked if the first défense spray says not for pregnancy which probably everything lists!

Really good suggestions, thanks @VisionEuro. I have mouth wash in the cupboard so will definitely use it!

Thanks for asking @VisionEuro. I’m luckily still feeling fine. If I can get through the next 2-3 days then hopefully it means I haven’t caught it.

So glad that I had a vaccine booster recently!
