Sub/infertility blood tests

Does anyone have experience of getting fertility bloods done through a UK/england GP?

I have previously has tsh, fsh, lh checks done for the cd3 tests.

I’m working up my courage to ask my Gp for:

  • full thyroid panel
  • amh
  • prolactin
  • ferritin
  • b12 and folate
  • c reactive protein
  • vitamin d

I’m sure my gp will be amenable to most of them… but has anyone ever had amh test through their gp before?

Hi @UserL95
I recently requested amh via my gp and they said they can't fund this one. We are also under the care of the fertility clinic, and our ivf referral depends on an amh result within a certain range, although they also won't arrange it and say we still have to pay for it privately! I've been told its around £150.
Hopefully your GP can arrange the others.

I had my first AMH test through the GP and didn't pay anything. So I guess it varies from Trust to Trust.

There is a fertility panel of tests which your gp will do if you fit the criteria. Amh generally isn't funded as it doesn't necessarily correlate to fertility, it's a measure of ovarian reserve and much disputed relevance. That said, we were able to do it through our NHS lab but paying privately about £35.
