Prednisolene

Hi all
We recently did a second ivf cycle (ICSI) and the doctor prescribed me prednisolene which I understand is to help with killer cells I think. I have not had the test but she prescribed it as a precaution. This round was successful until about 7 weeks where an empty gestational sac was discovered.

so what I can take from this is it did implant. Prior to this I’ve only ever got pregnant once which was a chemical pregnancy about a year and a half ago.

Im wondering now if we try naturally for a few months if I should ask my doc can she prescribe me prednisolene outside of an ivf cycle to see if it helps.

My question is has anyone had any experience with this? Good or bad? The only other thing we changed really was taking more coq10.

Thanks for any help!!!

Prednisone has to be taken carefully, as in you should get blood tests to see your levels. Can your Specialist order NK cell test? There are blood and uterine, they are different.

It will increase your sugar levels also.

There are women who only need a small amount and others need much more, but the dose comes with the tests. I've only used them on IVF.

Thanks for your response. I ended up getting the test and confirmed I had elevated killer cells so I’ve been on prednisone for 3 months now for 2 weeks at a time. However I have noticed I’m experiencing real lows when I’m on it. Funnily enough it’s taken me a few months to realise this - possibly because it’s also coincided with the aftermath of a miscarriage so hard to know what’s what. Did you find it impacted you mentally?

@Blossomofhope

I didn't notice any mental side effects. However, this journey is already very stressful. Hard to know where the stress comes from. I'm also on a bunch of other medicines for T cells / NK cells so hard to tell apart side effects.

Mainly, Prednisone affected me when withdrawing, you have to do really slowly otherwise you feel like crap, you just feel sick all the time. Hard to describe, I just felt sick. Also, the moon face is bad, where your face gets really round.
