IVF - am I testing too early?

I've tested early and have a strong positive result, but now realise this was a bit silly as I won't know if the trigger has left. It's my first transfer after years TTC and I couldn't wait it out!

I am 10dp2dt. I had the trigger 14 days ago which was 5000 Gonasi. Has anyone had a positive at this point only to later find out it was the trigger? Or is 14 days enough? I am supposed to be waiting till Saturday, which would be 13dp2dt.

The line is really clear. I also did one two days ago at 10dp2dt which was also strong. I was hoping there'd be a clear difference between the two so I could be confident the line wasn't the trigger if it got darker rather than lighter. But looking at them they're both quite similar.

I've seen a few people on here saying it should be safe to test from 5dp5dt, but i'm not sure how that relates to my 2 day transfer. Do i add on 3 days and count from what would have been the 5 day transfer day? Or is day of transfer irrelevant and the trigger shot day is key?

I'm pretty sure it's good news, but wish I'd tested out the trigger as other people have done! Anyone know exactly what day the trigger shpuld be out? Some posts say it halves every 24 hours but I've also seen 36 hours quoted (which would make it too early to test I think).

Bf won't entertain this chat as he is against the early testing so thanks in advance! I'm wondering whether to share the good news with him or if it is just too soon.

:)

@AnotherDuvetDay I reckon you’re good. I tested 5dp5dt and started to get a faint positive. And I had a double trigger.
Im 5 weeks 2 days now, so far so good.

Just to add 5dp5dt for me is like 10dpo I think if counting egg collection as ovulation day so for you I guess it’s 12dpo?

I think it sounds like a BFP!! The trigger takes upto 10-14 days is my understanding. I tested it out on 2 rounds of IUI and this round of IVF I know it was out my system after 11 days when I first tested (4dp5dt)

I tested out my trigger at 2dp5dt, which was about 9 days post trigger and it was out of my system. By 4dp5dt I had a positive.

You are 7dp5dt, and by then I had a very very clear positive. So it seems to be a BFP!

Thanks everyone! It sounds like it might be good news then :)

I had a tiny amount of spotting today which I didn't like but I know it's normal. I've miscarried before so I'm going to try and stay cautious but it's nice to at least be on the right track so far! And knowing some of you tested out the trigger before now helps!

@Blossomofhope Congrats! Have they booked you in for a scan?

@AnotherDuvetDay Thanks, congrats to you too. Yep I’m booked in for a 7 week scan. Really hope all is progressing ok. Best of luck to you!
