Hi all
I’ve been advised I’ll be weighed on surgery day and they may cancel on the day if over

how much did you gain on stims ? I’ve lost 20kg so far , so stressed about the possibility they could cancel on surgery day

thanks in advance guys they suggested 14-20lb would be typical I just don’t know what to think

thank you all in advanced 😀

They said they expect you to gain 14-20ib during stims??

That seems very very high to me!
Others may come along and say that was the case for them but I would think that would be the extreme highest end of the scale 😳

I don’t think I weighed myself but know I was bloated / retaining water after stims so I’d say maybe a few ibs, but I put more on from being poorly on the sofa afterwards and eating too much 😳

Stins are generally around 2 weeks, so that would mean putting on 1ib a day 😳

I think the same as any hormones / medicine etc it’s to do mostly with appetite & metabolism changes so you just need to be mindful and drink lots of water!

I think maybe you misunderstood, that can't be right?! I didn't gain anything any of the times I've done a fresh round. You're only on stims for 10-13 days, a 14-20lb weight gain would be insane! I only put on 15lbs in my entire pregnancy after a successful round of IVF?! Just be mindful of what you're eating and keep your activity levels up.

Just so stressed being weighed every week then every scan .

that is good to know not everyone balloons . A huge amount of money to waste if they cancel on the day

thank you.. asked on another forum and they said they just say this to terrify people into starving and getting lower

finding it so stressful .. in the gym hours everyday just hoping I can stay under

thanks hun

Measuring you every appointment seems extreme. The NHS are very strict but I was only be weighed once a new course was needed whether that be a full collection round or transfer with an existing egg.
Once I was weighed and signed off that was it until the next round.
I did gain a little weigh on the stims maybe a few pounds and my clinic were aware of this but as the sign off was done at BMI 30 they always went with initial sign off weight.
This did cause me no end of stress as my weight was very up and down, sometimes this actually stressed me out more than the IVF process.
Good luck :)

@Rebekah77 wow that is really strict, the weight battle was always a stressful topic for me throughout the whole process.

I'm sure you will manage it, good luck :)

I didn't notice putting anything on during stims. If I did it definitely wasn't more than a couple of pounds.
