Hi all- looking for some good news stories
Had egg collection last week- got 18- only 3 fertilised and we're down to one now on day 3
Anyone had any good success with one?!
Last time I had treatment this happened - but I started from 7 so really thought I'd have more so feeling super disappointed

Hi,

I don't have a success story as I'm still in the 2WW following transfer, but just wanted to wish you luck with your embryo! Have you had a day 3 transfer or are they saving it for day 5?

I also had 18 eggs, unlike you I had 10 fertilise and 9 were at the stage they needed to be on day 3 with 7 of them being top quality. We only ended up with one average quality embryo suitable for transfer on day 5 with nothing to freeze. This felt like a horrible shock after we seemed to be doing so well on day 3. Different scenario to yours, but I guess it shows that the day 3 picture isn't necessarily indicative of what will happen by day 5?

Sending lots of positive wishes your way and I hope everything goes well x

Ilikeit5 · 12/02/2024 21:42

Yes, 4 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilised but only 1 made it to day 3 which was implanted as a day 3 and became my DD

Lrv1987 · 13/02/2024 06:33

Thank both!
@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday - sending you all the positive vibes in your 2ww. The highs and lows are so real in this journey aren't they! I thought I'd have more like you. Just hoping the last one makes day 5 for transfer tomorrow.

@Lrv1987 will keep everything crossed for you, let us know how you get on x

Lrv1987 · 15/02/2024 08:53

Hi @IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday ! Thanks so much for checking in- well I'm pleased to say I am also now in the 2WW! And two made it ❤️ I had one A- put in yesterday and another one miraculously pulled through- so got a C- in the freezer too - so feeling very very lucky 🍀
It's going to be a long two weeks 😂
How are you doing? Xxx

OP posts:
IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 16/02/2024 00:52

Hi @Lrv1987 that's great news that you had a really good quality embryo to transfer and how amazing that one of the others pulled through as well, just shows how things can work out sometimes!
Sadly I tested negative so we will have to start the process again.
I hope your TWW passes quickly and it's a great result for you though xx

Lrv1987 · 16/02/2024 06:51

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday - I'm so sorry- it's so brutal this process. Keeping everything crossed for you for the next round. Lots of love xxxx

OP posts:
IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 16/02/2024 09:47

Thank you xx

Lrv1987 · 26/06/2024 09:51

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday
How are you doing? Are you back on the merry go round?
I miscarried my last one unfortunately at 7 weeks, so back in the process again. 9 eggs collected yesterday and down to 4 now.

Hi @Lrv1987

Thank you for checking in!
I am actually back in the 2WW again, I had a day 5 4AA embryo transferred on Saturday. Over the moon to have had such a good quality embryo after only getting a 3BB on the first round.
I've also got a 4BA and a 5BA in the freezer.
I think a change of meds helped this time (only got 9 eggs but 7 fertilised and then 3 blasts seems a better result to me than 19, 10, 1!) and also changing up diet and adding in lots of supplements.

I'm sorry you had a miscarriage, that must have been devastating. Was that your C- embryo?

Crossing my fingers that your four embryos can all make it to day 5 💖 how are you feeling after the EC?

Lrv1987 · 26/06/2024 12:12

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday oh that's amazing news !! So pleased for you! No I miscarried the A embryo.
We've gone for another fresh cycle to try and build some more - but not feeling optimistic for loads- if one could make it I'd be pleased.
Keeping everything crossed for a Positive test for you! Xx

Hi @Lrv1987 ,

Just wanted to check in and see how you and your embryos got on, I really hope you're doing okay xx

Lrv1987 · 03/07/2024 08:16

Hey @IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday ! Thanks for checking in. Back in 2ww again too! One a- has gone in and another c- for freezer. So here we go again Hmm
How are you feeling? Are you still in 2ww? Really hope it's good news for you ❤️❤️

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 03/07/2024 08:24

Aww I hope it's a different story for you this time and you get a positive that goes all the way 💗

I tested yesterday at 10dp5dt and got a positive! I've had some OHSS symptoms since 5dpt so I was suspecting it had gone well but still couldn't quite believe it when we got those 2 lines.

When are you testing? I hope you're feeling okay and managing to stay distracted, the 2ww is a tough time xx

Lrv1987 · 03/07/2024 09:15

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday yayyyyy!!! That's amazing. I'm so pleased for you. I hope you have a happy, healthy pregnancy. So so pleased for you! I have my transfer on Sunday, so only at day 3 😭😭😭 but hopefully it will fly by so we can know one way or the other. Xxx

Lrv1987 · 10/07/2024 13:25

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday - I'm still not at OTD- that's Sunday but obvs been testing for ages , and it's positive, so relieved for now at least. Just want to fast forward to scan.
How are you feeling?

IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 10/07/2024 14:32

Fantastic news 🥰🥰 congratulations!

I've had a bit of a wild ride, OHSS hit me pretty hard, but thankfully it's been settling down for the last few days and I'm just pretty tired now. We did manage to see a tiny little sac when I had an ultrasound for the OHSS on Friday, I was 4+4 and the sac was measuring 5weeks so I think that means little one is growing well! 12 days until my 7 week scan, I don't know how anyone holds out until the 12 week scan it already feels like an eternity.

I guess you must be feeling a bit more anxious this time? I hope you can still enjoy these early weeks and hopefully it's all good news when your scan day finally arrives. Have you got any symptoms yet?

Lrv1987 · 10/07/2024 15:08

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday
Thank you! Yes feeling much more apprehensive this time- I'm 4+1 today technically speaking so hoping scan will be around 7 weeks - they like to leave it a bit later at my clinic so I might go for an early scan privately
Oh no sorry to hear about your OHSS! It's awful this process. I can still feel my ovaries if I roll over quickly in bed.
Hopefully it all settles down and great news little one is growing well ❤️❤️❤️

Lrv1987 · 10/07/2024 15:09

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday symptoms wise I'm just exhausted - getting through the day is a struggle 😂😂

OP posts:
IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 10/07/2024 20:17

@Lrv1987 oh bless you, your ovaries must be quite swollen as well then if you can feel them! Hopefully they don't get any bigger. I can definitely sympathise with the exhaustion, I had a nap the last 2 evenings but trying to hold out tonight to the end of the football! Do you work from home or are you having to go to work each day?

Lrv1987 · 14/07/2024 15:22

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday
I work from home so it's not too bad. How about you? Any morning sickness or anything? Xxx

OP posts:
IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 14/07/2024 20:25

@Lrv1987 I normally do 3 days in the office and 2 at home but my manager has been allowing me to work from home whenever I want so I've not been in whilst I've had OHSS.
I've felt a little bit of nausea today, a fee sips of ginger beer every now and then helped settle my stomach a bit.
How are you, are you still feeling exhausted?
Someone has set up a thread for July BFPs after IVF so if you want to join with a few others, have a look on the Infertility board it's one of the first ones (or let me know and I can tag you). It's quite nice hearing how other people are getting on. A few of my friends are pregnant at the moment and it feels frustrating not to be able to ask questions yet as we don't want to share until further along, so nice to have a space online to chat about it!
Have you told anyone yet?

Lrv1987 · 15/07/2024 12:28

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday ooooo yes please can you tag me?!
I've told quite a few people - now is the time you need the support rather than 2nd trimester, so I'm really open about it. Totally personal preference but I'd rather people knew so they understand why I look and act like a zombie 😂😂😂
Still super tired! Hope morning sickness passes for you xxx

OP posts:
IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday · 15/07/2024 18:28

@Lrv1987 will tag you now! Aww that's lovely that you've got support now. we decided not to share the news yet, but I don't know if it was the right decision..
I had a sudden thought today that if we do have a sad outcome then no one else will have known just how happy we've been these last few weeks! It's all a bit of a minefield isn't it.

Lrv1987 · 15/07/2024 19:57

@IWouldRatherBeOnHoliday , I was so glad I'd told people when we had a sad outcome because I needed the support so much. But it's totally personal preference
I'm terrible at keeping my mouth shut too 😂😂😂
