King’s vs Lister

Hello
I am trying to decide which one to choose for my IVF treatment, King’s or Lister? Any recommendations would be welcome.
A bit of background: I am 43 with apparently normal fertility (my age is though an issue) and hubby ok again just sperm morphology a bit low 4%
Thanks

Hi @Kari4596 ,

hope you are well! I am aware that this message is quite old but I found it as I am looking at the same two clinics and I hope it’s ok to ask you what you ended up deciding for in the end?

we’re currently at Lister about to start the first round of IVF. We like our consultant although I have heard that King’s is better for male factor (my partner has high DFI) and is also cheaper than lister so wondering whether we should consider changing.

thanks for any advice !

Unfortunately we went with Lister, we were unsuccessful. We also have male factor. What I didn’t like at Lister was that they weren’t transparent. They didn’t tell us that the first cycle is just a baseline cycle, to see what happens. They didn’t do ICSI for example although they knew we have male factor, so out of 12 eggs and 8 good quality embryos at day 3 we ended up with 1 poor quality blast. So money spent for nothing and the physical and emotional toll on me for nothing. Second cycle they did ICSI and again standard protocol for me, we did have 2 good quality blasts this time but not euploid. So again unsuccessful. They didn’t want to tweak the protocol for me second time around. We don’t have money for more and we don’t have the emotional capacity to continue so we stopped. But I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. When we started with them they said we should be able to get one good embryo. Well we didn’t. Even the urologist said Lister did the first cycle for them not for us ( he clearly stated in his letter to do ICSI not regular IVF). I am considering to make a formal complaint but I am emotionally exhausted.

King's works out a lot cheaper.

I don't know about Lister at all, but have had almost entirely positive experience of Kings.

@Kari4596 , thanks for sharing your experience. I am really sorry to hear what happened! It is such a hard process to go through without feeling that the people working with you are supporting you and listening to what you need. I can imagine the emotional exhaustion. Take care of yourself and be kind to yourself.
