Anyone 35+ conceived naturally after 6mo of TTC?

Due to my age (37) and low ovarian reserve, I’ve started seeing doctors and am going to go ahead with treatment ASAP. 6 mo of TTC, 3 early losses in that time.

I’m still holding out hope though that there’s nothing really wrong and I just need some more time. Unfortunately my friends and family all fall into one of two camps- quick conceptions (1-3 mo) or long journeys with treatment. Is anyone out there an ‘in betweenie’ success story?

If you’ve conceived 3 times in 6 months at the age of 37 then you’re in a good position tbh!

sorry to hear you lost those pregnancies. Sounds like you could see a recurrent miscarriage specialist but certainly doesn’t sound like you need fertility treatment to conceive as you guys are doing well on that front.

It may just be you’ve been unlucky to have 3 abnormal embryos in a row. But probs worth getting checked there’s no hormonal issues that may be stopping a healthy pregnancy develop.

Thanks @AnnieStar12. I’ve just started seeing someone about immune issues, but it’s really hard to know if I’ve just been unlucky with 3 abnormal embryos, as you say. The immune testing is so expensive and the treatment quite intimidating, that I’m unsure whether to go all in or wait it out a few more months.

Hi

We tried briefly at 36, then got engaged and waited until we got married. Started trying again, we had about 12 good tries within 18 months. We had investigations and it was unexplained. We finally fell pregnant at that 18 month point and had an amazing first trimester. Got to our 12 week scan and had the dreaded high NT measurement. Baby had Edwards Syndrome and we had to terminate a few weeks later.

It was honestly heartbreaking but I clung on to hope, believing we'd try again and get pregnant. Now we're three cycles on and nothing yet. I am getting more and more desperate if I'm honest.

Im so sorry to hear that @MrsScotland . I can’t imagine how awful that must have been to go through. And unexplained infertility is an incredibly frustrating diagnosis. Are you considering IVF?

Thank you, and sorry, didn't mean to give you a scary story!

We had been put forward for IVF but my BMI is 34 and needs to be under 30 so need to do something about it but finding it so so hard to lose weight as I get older.

When we fell pregnant naturally I breathed a sigh of relief that I didn't need to lose 2 st after all!
