IVF in Sussex

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with IVF down in Sussex on the NHS? Particularly waiting times from point of referral and the actual process.
My partner needs to have a repeat sperm analysis done at the end of February as the initial test came back as abnormal.
After this, will we first be referred to a specialist to do some more tests before even going on the waitlist for IVF?
My GP hasn’t really been able to tell me the process.

thanks in advance

Just wondering how you experience was? Was his SA abnormal in the second sample? I’m in a similar position so just wondering. Hope you’re doing well

His second SA came back normal. We were referred to the fertility specialist and I had to go for further tests to check AMH levels (all was normal and had unexplained infertility). Was then sent for HSG test and found out I was pregnant a few weeks later. I am convinced the HSG helped :) I now have a 10 month old. The most frustrating thing is waiting for the appointments and results. I wish you the best of luck! Any other questions, let me know but don’t have any info on the actual IVF process

Ok thank you, and congratulations. DH had a sample done which we then worked out was 5 weeks post flu but all parameters were severely abnormal with 99% defects low count at 2 mil and 0% progressive 1% non progressive motility so we were truly shocked especially as we concieved DD 5 years ago in a few months. I’m just hoping his results are due to illness or lifestyle and it can be reversed and we have a second SA scheduled for end of March. If this is still poor we will do 2 cycles of ICSI
