Awaiting FET but there’s a delay

So I’m awaiting a FET. I called the clinic today, and I asked for some advice because I had kidney stones a few weeks ago.
My other issue is that I don’t have regular cycles and they told me that if I get to CD45 with no period and am ready for a transfer to call.

Instead of advice, they didn’t want to speak to me. They said I needed to see a doctor at the clinic (because I had surgery. Not major surgery though!) So I had to phone for the next available appointment.

I did. And it’s April. I could cry. And it’s not even SEEING a doctor. It’s a telephone consultation.

Does anyone have any advice? Anything similar happened to anyone.

I don’t know if I can just sit on everything til then….i feel like I’m just getting older and I am so angry frustrated that I didn’t actually get some better advice.

I think I’ll just need to phone them up and ask for advice. Realistically, I might not have a period until then and they told me that it didn’t make for a healthy uterine. So i think I’ll just need to do that.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I’ve found nhs hospitals providing fertility services are pretty poor at actually giving advice for these things. Our clinic had a 5 month wait for a consultant appointment so I decided just to go ahead with transfer without appointment as figured they wouldn’t let me transfer if there was an issue (they can see my whole medical history). I hope you get an answer soon x

@StuffLoriThangs I a kidney stone whilst awaiting FET. It delayed things by about 3 months because I needed surgery to remove it and then things needed to settle down as the clinic then needed a blood test to show that my kidney function had returned to normal before I could proceed. I feel for you, I know how utterly frustrating the delays are

Ah ok. That might make a bit more sense. I think I’ll still phone the nurses line back to ask for advice on what I should do about my period meantime, cos when I’m ready for my FET I want to be completely good to go. Thank you.

Maybe you could start anticonceptive pills for a month just to get the period back. Usually after a surgery or a failed cycle you do have to see/consult with the specialist.

That might be the case, but it will be withdrawal bleeding. Not a period. And I’ll still need to speak to someone in order to get something. I’m not going through the GP. They don’t really have the right understanding

@StuffLoriThangs I once did 3 months of DHEA and it really messed up my cycle, I wouldn't get the period so the RE recommended to do one month anticonceptive and then I could restart IVF. They just check the bloods in Day 1 and if they are good, you could restart.
