Hi All, after 4 failed IVF cycles we are going to go down the egg donor route. Our IVF was at Kings and they mainly use Altrui for their donation programmes.

Any views on Altrui and who else would you recommend in terms of egg donation please? We’re in London and wouldn’t rule out going abroad but would prefer to have treatment here.

I noticed your message. Same position. I researched UK and then decided to go to US.
Feels a good decision. Our egg collection is tomorrow 🙏

All the best with it @SarahJTin How did the cost compare doing it in the US? What was the main factor in deciding to go there?

When I looked in the UK, I felt concerned that you can’t see their appearance or their family members. I glanced at went BHED, California and dropped Robyn an email and suddenly felt more comfortable when I could see a video of them and their face and siblings and parents. You can hear their voice, see their body language etc.. A particular profile who met our request description got sent through and she reminded me of my younger self.
It’s been far more expensive than the UK but that’s because the price of our donor. We used Spring fertility NY, Dr.Catha Fisher. You can arrange an initial consultation with her to talk it through, she’s lovely. Their prices are pretty much as seen in website. The success rate with PGTA is close to 80% which is what we wanted to hear. I’m late 40s. The price depends on what you want to pay for your donor which varies between €5000-100.000.
we only needed to go twice. Once for initial test and hand over partners sperm. Second trip early Feb for embryo transfer after we know if we have healthy pgta blasts.
It looks like we might get 12-15 Mature eggs from our donors 30 follicles today so exciting few weeks ahead for us.
Ive loved the process, we are staying anonymous but we’ve enjoyed writing our donor a letter and sending her a gift today and I think she genuinely feels it rewarding as well.

I just thought I’d share hopeful news with you as I know positive stories are quite helpful.
At egg collection we got 36 eggs, 30 mature healthy eggs and 25 fertilised so we are now awaiting the number of 5 day blasts that we will have on Thursday. So far lots of positives 🙏
