Kings fertility - Experiences

Hi all,

We are doing our testing (AMH for me and Sperm analysis for my husband) and we have our consultation and a scan for me next Wednesday.

Few questions if you have used them? How would you recommend them?

For the consultation - do they give you the one option or do the listen/discuss to what you feel? I have to pay privately, and I think my issue is not ovulating (had 2 x day 21 tests which have showed it and bbt only risen on 2 cycles last year) so on rather than jump to IVF, i would like to try Clomd/Letrozole (on the basis my husbands sperm is ok!).

Its less invasive, less costly and we still have IVF if Ovulation treatment doesnt work. Do you know if you can propose? or are they kind of like - this is what we recommend and thats it?

Thanks

P.s. for anyone else reading this - they tested my weight at my AMH blood test (didnt expect this) and I was told they round up to nearest KG. I had drank lots of water and eaten a stodgy jacket potatoe meal as well as wearing lots of layers due to cold. I came out at 81.5g wheras usually 78ish at home. (Just an FYI as this could be the difference of BMI in and out for some people for free NHS funding - I'm private so doesnt make too much of an impact)

I have found them excellent. Yes they will give you their recommendations, but that is what you are paying for! I would try to go with an open mind rather than thinking you know what the problem and solution is, you're paying for their expertise and they will explain their thought process/reasoning for what they recommend. I have not yet had a reason to not trust their judgement and have been happy with their reasoning (we have had successful and unsuccessful rounds of IVF with them).

Depending on the results it may be you have options or it may be there is only one sensible approach to treatment. Hard to know before you've had all the baseline tests done. I'm sure you already know this but obviously it is worth trying to lose weight steadily and sensibly - being overweight in itself affects fertility, will reduce likelihood of success with fertility treatment and puts you at higher risk during pregnancy. Hope your consult goes well.

Hi,

Thank you so much! I had a great session with the consultant and he gave some recommendations and definitely didnt push the most costly plan and stated his recommendation such as hycosy was not 'Mandatory'.

Similar to what you mentioned above - he provided quite a few options suggest less start from least invasive and review.

Glad it went well OP. Just a quick one to say Kings Fertility were our clinic several years ago and they were excellent, bar one consultant who we asked not to see again and that was respected. If were were still local we would be going back privately to try again now.
