I ended up in A&E on Saturday night with a ruptured ovarian cyst. The pain was unbearable and my husband and I had no idea what was happening - it was extremely scary! We recently went through our first ICSI cycle - which sadly failed before transfer with no embryos surviving past day 3. Both the doctor and the emergency gynaecologist said ruptured ovarian cysts are extremely common in connection with IVF - but I've never heard of them before, and our fertility clinic never mentioned this as something we should look out for. Has anyone else experienced this? Did it become a common occurrence or affect future fertility treatment in any way? I'm terrified it will happen again...
