King's Fertility

We will be starting our first round of free ICSI with King's Fertility. Hopefully in January. I have booked my blood tests and zoom consent. The baseline scan was booked on day 24 of my cycle.

I am 35 and have been TTC for two years and recently found out that it was due to male factor. Things my side looks to be okay.

Any feedback on King's? They don't have the best HFEA ratings but it's free and their doctor say they have to take everyone which can lower the average vs. private clinics that can selectively pick candidates to get to a higher success rate. Any watch outs to be proactive with King's about? I want to try and do the treatment in end of Jan.

I found them brilliant. I have been at Create, London Women’s Clinic and Kings and found Kings to be head and shoulders above the other two. They are very attentive, dynamic and innovative. Should note that I have only had egg retrievals there so far - no transfers.

Alex Jones did a documentary about IVF and Kings feature heavily so
I would give that a watch to give you an insight.

Thanks for the feedback! I have my baseline scan booked middle of January, do they start the treatment on the period cycle that comes right after it? Just wondering if I'll get to start end of Jan or would have to wait until Feb.

Had our NHS ICSI with Kings and I have no complaints atall and would highly recommend them. I found everything to be very organised and efficient, there were no delays with treatment for us this year and as soon as we’d had the baseline scan etc and zoom calls etc medication was delivered to the house and started the protocol on the next period. Also bit of a silly thing to comment on maybe but I really like the feel of the place, the building etc feels very un-clinical and not depressing etc as some hospitals and usual medical places can be. Does really make a difference if you have to visit regularly which can end up being the case with IVF.

Good luck with your round!

Hi

We're booked in for our enhanced consultation in Jan (prior to this we're having a blood test/semen analysis and scan on the day of the consultation)

What did you find timings were to then getting treatment? did you then have to book in for a baseline scan? or was the initial scan the baseline

I had a baseline scan on day 21 and then started Buserelin if all OK. Could then start stims with my next period. But that was long protocol, so might be different for short (normal) protocol. There were never any delays because of the clinic (e.g., their needing to fit me in because of a busy schedule). I would imagine if all ok that you will be able to commence right away (assuming baseline scan is at the start of your cycle and you have all your meds).
