Private ovulation induction whilst awaiting IVF?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to go private for initial investigations (hycosy, AMH etc) and private ovulation induction with clomid/ letrozole while awaiting and NHS fertility referral for IVF??

Or do you need to follow one track - either NHS or private from the outset?

I have PCOS but not sure if I definitely ovulate every month
Thanks

It is different in different places so I would check locally. The NHS are unlikely to regard testing done privately and may make you repeat them if needed. Never a popular opinion on here, but you can just crack on privately and not disclose to the NHS if it gets to the point of you needing their input.

I had a lot of the tests privately, AMH, HyCosy, semen analysis, pelvic scans etc and was prescribed both letrozole and clomid before going NHS.
The majority of my results were used, the semen samples had to be redone via the NHS though.
I done this as the NHS wait was killing me wondering if anything obvious was wrong.
All areas are different so they might not use your private results, I was told my area would accept me for NHS provided I hadnt gone through any physical treatment such as IVF/ICSI privately.

Read your local health board assisted conception policy. Mine says they won’t fund ivf if you’ve already done more than two private rounds (among other criteria) but nothing on other treatments.

I’m doing nhs letrozole while we wait for our nhs ivf slot.

Sorry PS I also did all the tests privately while waiting for first nhs consult, except DH’s SA which we did through nhs.

All my private tests have been accepted by nhs so far, but ivf clinic might say otherwise. One thing I’ll say is that having the results recorded privately in my nhs file has meant the nhs docs can NEVER find it, even though they’re there, so I carry a copy every time I go
