Faint positive on OTD. Worried!

Today is my OTD at 12dp5dt (fresh, hatching blastocyst). This is our second IVF cycle after our first ended in miscarriage. I’ve not tested during my 12 day wait until first thing this morning. It does seem to be positive but I’m very very worried about how light the line is. I used a Boots 5 days early HPT. I’ll post a photo of the test after the three minute window (on the left) and a photo of the test five mins later (on the right). The positive test line came up within the timeframe but after the control line. What do you think - is there any hope? I’m concerned that it should be a much darker positive line at 12dp5dt? I intend to take another test on Tuesday morning and I’ll be phoning my clinic tomorrow. I’ve got no symptoms either! I want to feel hopeful but I’m worried sick.

I don’t think that’s faint, mine never really got that dark to be honest and I’m over 14weeks now. I understand the anxiety though especially with past experiences but that looks good to me

Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to reply, @JadeAC . Interesting that you never really got a darker positive line and wonderful that you’re now 14 weeks! Thanks for understanding my anxiety and you have reassured me a little. Wishing you all the very best for the rest of your pregnancy 😊

Thank you! You too. 🤞

I’d say that was a nice positive test.
Does your clinic do a blood test? That might give some reassurance, or do another test in a few days but that test doesn’t look faint to me. Congratulations on your pregnancy, hope all goes well.

Thank you loads for your reply, @LongerthanMrTicklesarms. My clinic have never mentioned blood tests - they just book me in for a scan 2-3 weeks from now - but I’m going to ask them about blood tests because of how worried I am about the line lightness. I’m glad to hear you think it looks positive but I guess I’d just expect a stronger line on OTD. Thank you for your reassurance and good wishes though - I do appreciate it. I hope your fertility journey is a smooth one.

@Outrun85 my fertility journey has resulted in me becoming a mum a few months ago after many rounds of IVF, some even cancelled due to poor response and some with nothing to transfer at all so I remember well the stress of it all.
I’m hoping that your lines get darker but that honestly is an obvious positive, not a squinter at all and remember it may also depend how concentrated your urine is. That’s why I personally liked the reassurance of blood tests but it could also just be another thing to fixate on!

Thank you @LongerthanMrTicklesarms. Congratulations on recently becoming a Mum! We do go through such journeys. Thank you for the reassurance about my pregnancy test line. I’m really hoping for a positive outcome 🤞

@Outrun85 how are you getting on? Have you continued testing or did you get a blood test? Hoping for a positive outcome for you.

Outrun85 · 04/01/2024 10:38

Thank you for asking how I am, @charja100. Unfortunately things are not good: my several hcg results have been very low and only slowly increasing; my IVF consultant is certain it’s not a viable pregnancy and I’ve also started to bleed so I have been referred to my local hospital for miscarriage management. There’s a slight concern about the possibility of ectopic which I really hope isn’t the case. I’m glad I asked my IVF clinch for hcg blood tests based on the advice given on this thread.

I’m so sorry to hear that.

Sorry OP that is not the update I was hoping you would have. Please do get them to check the location of the pregnancy, an ectopic can be serious.
Take care of yourself at this difficult time. 💐
