Natural FET - how often are the scans and what cycle day do they start? 🗓️

I’m having natural FET with Create fertility in the new year. I have my treatment consultation booked but it’s not for a while, and I’m trying to get a sense of the frequency of scans to help with work diary planning!

I ovulate on day 13-14 so does anyone know what day the scans would start? Would they be daily or every other day?

Any info you could share with me would be great, thank you.

Most (although not all) clinics like to do a baseline scan around day 3-5. Monitoring scans then usually start around day 10. Maybe a day or two earlier if you’re a known early ‘ovulater.’ If you know the signs of ovulation approaching, it can be helpful and reassuring to keep an eye out for them yourself.

Good luck!

I will also be having an unmedicated FET in 2024, this cycle was too complicated due to Christmas but I’m having a monitoring scan this weekend as a guide for how things look at this point in my cycle and hoping to go ahead in January or February.

I will start progesterone 5 or 6 days before transfer but can’t remember if I get the go-ahead to start the progesterone after ovulation. I will need to ask as it is a juggle with work for sure! I had a successful medicated FET previously with a mock cycle beforehand so it was much more predictable.

Hi,

I'm not too sure about a natural FET. I'm with Create and just had a medicated FET. I had to email clinic on Day 1 of my period. Then start progynova 3 times a day from day 2. On day 10, I was called for a scan to check lining. Then I was told to start pessaries on Day 13. And 5 days later I had a blood test in the morning to check progesterone level and then transfer late afternoon the same day

Hi @OfficeLamp

I recently had a FET with Create.

Are you having a day 5 transfer?

I had the following: period started and that day count as day 1, had a scan done on day 9 and then started tracking ovulation (twice a day) on day 12, had a scan done on day 13 and had my LH surge evening of day 13 called the clinic on day 14 in the morning and they told me to start progesterone the following morning (which is when I ovulated). Had my blastocyst transfer done 5 days after.

Hope this helps 👍🏻
