Thin lining, cancelled medicated HRT - when will I get period?

Hi everyone

We have unfortunately had to cancel our HRT FET due to thin lining issues. I have been on all sorts of estrogen to try and thicken but nothing has helped. I have one small follicle at around 4mm as we were suppressing ovulation.

For anyone who has had to cancel a HRT FET before starting progesterone, when did your period start once you stopped estrogen?

Am I correct in thinking it will take weeks as my body will need to take back control and go through the process of growing a lead follicle and ovulating?

Appreciate anyone’s experiences who has had to cancel a medicated cycle before progesterone. Thanks x

I had 2 ca celled FETs last year due to thin lining and not responding to higher doses of estrogen. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Ny clinic put me on progesterone both times for 7 days and I bled 3 days after stopping.

I did low dose stims abd my best resokded better to that and I got to 7.8mm but my embryos degenerated so it didn't work. MySr wants me to do the same protocol if I do a FET in the future (trying to bank some embryos as we havenone left now)

I'd ask you clinic to take progesterone x

Hi, I know this threads was from last year but I’m wondering if either of you prev posters have updates on follow up cycles where your lining responded better?

I’m on CD21 of medicated FET cycle, lining got to 7mm very quickly (by first scan on CD10) but has been slow to respond since and my clinic is insisting I get to 8mm (was 7.8mm on last scan!). I was on progynova and 1 week of ganirelix but I still grew two follicles so had to add ganirelix back in. They’ve now said the ganirelix may be counteracting the effect the estrogen is meant to have on my lining, so I’m very confused about the protocol.

I’m getting worried they’re going to cancel the cycle so starting to think about what might happen next and what questions to ask.

I usually have a good lining during natural /non treatment cycles so this is really frustrating and I’m wondering if they just didn’t give me a high enough estrogen dose (I’m tall). I’ve also heard of others not having the ganirelix so I’m wondering what from my history indicated they would need to add it in, or if that’s just their protocol.

apologies - I know this wasn’t the full point of your thread but sounds like you’ve had similar experiences x
