First time I'm using this ...

Question: How can I best prepare my body for ivf ?

Foods
Exercise
Do's
Dont's

Easy things, I read things online which sometimes is conflicting information. It's hard to take it all in

Some easy advise is welcomed

Here is a few of things that i've done:

  1. Read starts with the Egg and introduce a coq10 vitamin in your diet
  2. Gentle exercise and then reduce stress
  3. Reduce toxins (less plastics, minimise candle usage)
  4. Don't over think and change too much too quickly in terms of diet etc has you don't want to increase your cortisol.

To be honest, along as your trying to be as healthy as possible. There's no magic tips. I took all the supplements in the world , ate nothing but clean veg ect and still ended up with poor quality embryos. My round where I ate what I wanted and only took a multi vit actually produced better quality blast that im not 8 weeks with. It's just pot luck. That's my opinion on ivf. Don't stress yourself out

Everyone is different and our bodies are completely different. All I can say is really need to try have no stress, take folic acid and multivitamins :)

Wishing you luck with IVF these would be my tips.

try not to worry
stay away from Google everyone’s IVF is different
drink 2-3L of water a day
avoid chemicals when you start the IVF
use plain shower gel and shampoo and conditioner
no perfume
only eat red meat once or twice a week
eat a Mediterranean diet where possible
be a healthy weight
give up alcohol in advance
reduce caffeine (I completely gave it up but you can have up to 2 coffees a day apparently)
high protein diet once you start the IVF.

It will be scary but exciting! If you have any questions or need any advice let me know xx

Im actually more excited than scared :) not drinking and quit smoking long time ago. Stopped drinking any alcohol just after a new year. Getting my scan done and then hopefully can start injections. Thanks god I’m not a big fan of red meat and coffee 😂 so that wouldn’t be a problem. Trying to eat healthy now, which is hard, bcs I love all the chockolate and cheese. Need to try and force myself to eat veg which I’m not that keen to. Having nightmares every night, but that’s probably bcs it’s getting closer to the process and I’m thinking too much of it.

It is exciting! I was relieved to finally start it. Also asparagus is apparently really good!
when are you starting it? x

ElaineWinter · 08/01/2024 16:52

Waiting for my periods and have to go on a second day then for a scan. Fingers crossed linings are good and ready to start then. Should be in a week approx :)

How are you getting on?

I had my egg transfer 6 days ago
Now it's the long 2 week wait until I find out if it's been successful
Just really hard this wait
Literally don't know what to do

Unfortunately they found a polyp. Had it before and it was removed, but it came back. Tranfer was supposed to be on Wednesday:( they said they ll call tomorrow and see what quality are eggs and the best thing to freeze them, have op to remove polyp and then do the transfer. If eggs quality is not good enough for freezing would need to do transfer on Wednesday and just pray that it would work :( devastated
