Prednisolone - dose/use?

I’ve been prescribed 25mg of prednisolone a day by my recurrent miscarriage consultant after BFP. I’ve also been prescribed 10mg a day during the 2WW by my IVF clinic. Luckily I’ve got my BFP so meant to be upping my dose today!

I am feeling a bit nervous - my consultant is very blasé about risks/doses and has prescribed this to me without any testing or additional monitoring. Has anyone else been on a similar dose? What was the outcome? Thanks!

im on 20mg, started two days before FET and thankfully its been the first time we've ever had a bfp from taking it, so continue it until 10 weeks and then wean of it I think. Im 5wks3 at the moment. In terms of side effects I'd say only insomnia but really varies, I'll go off to sleep fine and then wake up during the night for a few hours, but other nights I'll sleep through. I take the whole dose in the morning with food. They aren't really monitoring me on it either.

I was put on 25mg a day after three transfers failed to implant. No major side effects - and I think it contributed to me finally getting a BFP on my fourth transfer. Took it until 12 weeks and then weaned off - now almost 20 weeks.

Thanks both! I’m a bit anxious I didn’t go on a high dose until BFP as lots of people seem to be on it earlier but fingers crossed it still does the trick! 5th pregnancy in a year for me so really need some positive news :(

@Superstorefan123 with my first pregnancy I was on pred basically the whole 9 months as I have Crohn's and I was in an awful flare. No side effects baby born perfectly healthy!
Iv been prescribed them aswell to start once I get my BFP, wondering whether I should start from the TWW? Had 2 losses last year and 1 chemical this year, otherwise haven't been able to conceive this year 😩 LH peak today so ovulation tomorrow 🙈

Heya! I am currently cuddling my 7 week old son after 4 losses - he’s absolutely perfect! I stayed on prednisolone until 18 weeks (weaned off very slowly from 12 weeks) and no ill effects. In fact baby was 8lb11 (born on due date at 40 weeks) so no ill effects from steroids on size. What’s your situation?

Superstorefan; I know you probably won’t see this but I’m so hopeful I’ll follow suit. 4 miscarriages in a row and just been prescribed prednisolone. Got everything crossed I’ll be the same
