Cycle phase of frozen Embryo transfer

Hi all, can i check when in your cycle you had embryo transfer? I know every clinic is different, but mine want my period to start and then start taking drugs on day 2 to i guess make it stop before implantation, which I find odd, as it should be mid-cycle around ovulation right?

Can someone advise?

Thanks
Mia

For a medicated FET I always started oestrogen on day 2, along with meds to prevent ovulation. I then started progesterone around day 14 and transfer on day 19. Assuming ovulation is normally around day 14, this means transfer is aligned with that (assuming a blastocyst transfer).

During medicated transfers, your ovaries are shut down and the medication replaces the hormones. You will be taking estrogen until the lining is triple layered and thick enough. Then you start the progesterone and usually after 5 days the transfer happens.
Sometimes it takes more than 14 days for the lining to thicken enough, but it doesn't matter because the ovaries being shut down, you are relying on medication only.

The timing is different if you do the transfer on a natural cycle.

Did you have a normal period then? If you are taking hormones on day 2? Or did it shut down? Do advise

Yes, the period continues as normal and then the lining starts to build up again as you continue with the oestrogen

Got it thank you, I have endometriosis so worried any estrogen will just result in a crazy bleed, but let’s see.
