Hi this our first round of ivf after 6 years of ttc and 3 Mc .
I'm now 9dp5dt and this morning I had a bfn official test day isn’t until 14dpt, is there still hope or should I give up this round ?

I have had lots of pregnancy like symptoms but could just be the progesterone?!

hi there, I just want to let you know I know exactly how you feel. Have a read on this - https://www.reddit.com/r/IVF/comments/fljrfi/when_should_i_test_an_informative_post/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

I also want to say I have read that some people got their BFP at a later stage (10+dp) and went on to have successful pregnancies.

14dp5dt is a very conservative timeframe. My clinic’s OTD is 12dp5dt. I’m sorry to sound pessimistic, I would want to know for definite sooner rather than later.

I agree with the pp unfortunately and I'm mindful false hope isn't necessarily a good think. Any symptoms you perceive will be the progesterone. A negative at 9d5dt is almost certainly conclusive in all but the rarest of situations. I am sorry, it is very distressing. Take time for yourself to process if you can.

Thanks for this Reddit thread , it is super helpful . And I agree I want to know sooner also, as I get more hopeful the more time goes on but if I know it’s over at least I can try to start grieving and moving on.

Thanks yeah I thought as much , but my clinic said to keep taking the progesterone so I wondered if there was still hope ! But when I saw it I think I knew it was over 😔

14dp5dt is rather late. I'm sorry they're keeping you hanging on so long x

I stopped the progesterone on day 11. By then I just want my period to come so I can try again.

Hang in there :)

From my experience 9dpt , if negative then it’s going to stay negative sorry :( iv had 5 day embryo trasfer and had a line at 4-5dpt already .

@4thcyclelucky the Reddit thread is interesting but I'd take it with a pinch of salt as the study and data on which the conclusions are based was done on only around 200 women WITHOUT fertility issues over 20 years ago. If you go into the article, you'll see it says that authors say the findings aren't necessarily applicable to IVF.

@IVFgothope The comments on that post are more recent and provide more information too and there are questions and answers on IVF testing. The findings are based on ‘First response early result’ pregnancy tests.
