Im over 40 so that’s never a good start is it! In my 20s and early 30s I was naive enough to think that when I decided I was ready for children it would just happen! I got married at 36 and came off the pill straight away. A year later we conceived naturally but I had a MMC at around 7 weeks (found out at the ‘12 week’ scan!). We started trying again but nothing happened so eventually we started IVF. Over the course of 3 rounds of IVF we have found that I have a thyroid issue so I’m on tablets for that, and an immunity issue so I’m on steroids for that. But so far the only result has been further MMCs and several MVAs to end the pregnancies. We made the choice to go one more time and today was transfer day. Despite collecting 14 eggs, by today we were down to 5 and only 3 viable. We transferred one which is a 4CC grade so I’m already convinced it won’t come to anything and I’ll be back to booking an MVA again.
There’s not much point to this post other than hoping there are some success stories out there for 4CC embryos that went on to be actual babies!?!
Urgh this whole process is so horrible!!
