Hi everyone, my husband and I have been advised to have ICSI due to MFI.

I am 27 and have an AMH of 29.3 and at my last scan AFC was 30.

we have our initial consultation with our clinic at the end of the month so will find out then but based on this does anyone know whether we are likely to be put on long or short protocol please?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

My AMH and AFC were the same as you and I had short protocol.

@sweetpea2000 that’s good to know thanks! I’m really hoping for short but obviously will do whatever the consultant recommends.

do you mind me asking how many eggs you had collected?

@sweetpea2000 and sorry but with that number of follicles did you have to do a freeze all cycle? Thanks

Sure - I did 4 cycles for embryo banking. They were quite conservative with my stimms on the first cycle, to minimise the risk of OHSS, and I got 9 eggs. For the following cycles they increased the stimulation and I got 17, 18 and 15 eggs.

I was planning to freeze all anyway, but they would have met me go ahead with a transfer if I wanted (I considered it).

Hope this helps

@sweetpea2000 ah they’re great numbers! Have you had any transfers yet?

glad to hear a fresh transfer could still be an option for us also! Thank you

Yes, I was very lucky that my first transfer last November was successful and I now have a three month old baby boy.

Wishing you all the best with your treatment.
