Fluid in endometrium and thin lining

Hi! I'm currently waiting to start a FET after egg collection last month where they could not do a fresh transfer due to small amount of fluid in cavity and thin lining of 5mm. This month they asked to scan on day 9 whilst I'm not on any medication to see if fluid was still there, and it was, just outside the cavity. I'm so worried it will be there next month when I start taking meds for the frozen transfer. Has anybody had any experience with this?

Hello! So sorry about your lining and fluid… unfortunately I have no answers: I had a scan today - very thin lining and fluid in the endometrial cavity too… 😞 absolutely no idea what it means and if I will even have a FET again

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. It really is so upsetting to not be able to get answers. Have you had this happen before? Were they conscious if the lining when you started your protocol to thicken the lining? I've had a friend ask her consultant and he said the fluid is the issue to be dealt with first as it can compress the lining. I think I need to push for a hysteroscopy to see why this fluid is there and then do an almighty estrogen push in the meds leading up to a FET, if I ever get there.
Has your doctor said what your next steps night be?

Sorry I should have mentioned that I had a mc 2.5 months ago. But the fluid was only noticed yesterday by the sonographer and I haven’t contacted the clinic yet as felt a bit low… Never happened before so I suspect it’s related to the mc. I was hoping to start my protocol in November/December but it seems very unlikely now. Did you get any answers? Perhaps the fluid can be drained? xx

Hi @Sunflower1111 How are things? Have you managed to start a protocol for a FET? I'm currently in Day 14 of taking estrogen in prep for a FET, and the fluid is an issue again. I had the first scan on day 7 if taking estrogen and there was no fluid and the lining was growing slowly but steadily. Day 12 after increased estrogen, and the fluid is back. Still there today on Day 14, but the lining has got to 6.5mm. Hoping that I can get to the point to take Progesterone and that that might regret rid of the fluid. I'm just dreading this cycle being cancelled and just referred to a hysteroscopy.

No experience on the fluid aside from on one round of ivf which it had gone away by transfer but I did have a thin lining on more than one occasion. I have for pregnant naturally too though so I'm not sure if it's a constant problem or a hit and miss one.

Anyway for my FET I asked to try Sildenafil, it's viagra and there was some research it increases blood flow to the uterus. At 6 days pre transfer it was 7mm. (Stopped it then). I wanted to get to 10mm and sonographer said no chance but once I stopped that and had the Progynova it got to 9.8mm over those 6 days. I do think it helped me but it's hard to know as it was my first FET. Maybe it was the Sildenafil, maybe the Progynov or maybe both. You could read up on it and see how you feel. I'm now coming up to 23 weeks pregnant (I'll be 41 in Jan).
It didn't make me feel great tbh the Sildenafil - just want to be honest about that!
