Debating whether to buy my fertility drugs from Fertility2U or go to Asda. Issue is I can’t find out the price at Asda without a private prescription, so don’t know how to compare.

Is anyone able to tell me what they’ve paid recently for:

Ovitrelle 250 mcg
Gonal F 450 iu
Cetrotide 0.25 mg

Any help appreciated, thank you.

Hi, I have bought from both Fertilty2u and Dock Online pharmacy. It really depends what you are looking for - it definitely pays to shop around. I needed a private prescription for both Fertility2U and Docks. Sorry, haven’t purchased any of my medications from Asda so can’t advise about this x

I looked into ASDA but the prices were the same roughly as Stork (my clinic’s preferred).

Ask for an invoice from your clinic. It will have a breakdown of all prices. Then you can take it to other pharmacies and ask them for a quote.

Then you can decide who to order it from.

Asda was a lot cheaper compared to Fertility2u (Create fertility)

Asda prices:
Gonal F 900 - 338.40
Ovitrelle - 37.66
Cetrotide 27.13

Thanks all for the guidance. I hadn’t realised I could ask Asda for a quote without a prescription.

For the benefit of other people coming next, these are the prices I was quoted.

  • Gonal F 300iu - £130 with Stork vs £113 at Asda
  • Cetrotide 0.25mg - £38 with Stork vs £28 with Asda
  • Ovitrelle 250mcg - £45 with Stork vs £38 with Asda.

So, for me, it’s about £160 per round cheaper buying at Asda rather than Stork. Not a huge number in the context of IVF, but it all helps.
